U.S.A. Registered. Likely one of the best industrial classics on the market today. R.W. Confer was built in 1930 in Portland, OR by Albina, Engine and Machine Works.
R.W. Confer has a "tunnel hull" with the outer parts of the hull bottom lower than the middle for rudder protection. This enables a larger propeller to be fitted and increases propeller efficiency, raising bollard pull by as much as 30 percent. It also increases ability to maintain speed in rough seas.
R.W. Confer is 60' in length with a 16' beam and a 6' draft. Powered by a 3412 Caterpillar diesel of 450 hp. Owner has installed self-cooling pipes at the bottom of the hull, so all water aboard is self-contained and reusable to increase live-aboard capability and address environmental commitments.
Same owner since 2000, constantly upgraded.
