This darling 61 year old Sportsman 40 is easy to handle and cheap to run!
Her simplicity and functionality is her best attribute. This pilothouse cruiser has dual helm stations at pilothouse and flybridge, a spacious salon with table and chairs in deckhouse and a settee/berth. The galley is aft end of lower cabin port side, and fwd is the v-berth. She is powered with rebuilt Twin Crusaders, 270 hp @ 4,400 rpm, with 90 hours!
She planes at 10-11 knots and her most fuel efficient cruise speed is 15 knots @ 2800 rpm. Go on a 100 mile trip and only burn a half a tank of fuel!
She has been docked undercover and maintained on a regular basis for the past 18 years by her owner and full service boatyard.

Spacious cockpit with plenty of storage and bimini to protect you from the hot sun. Two s/s ladders on port and stbd as you transition up one step to the pilothouse. Ladders allow for assistance in stepping up, as well as a place for guests to hold on to when underway.
The pilothouse offers original Huckins controls and two Huckins chairs, with engine access just below.
Down three steps to the salon that has a settee/berth to stbd and 2 chairs and a table to port, with optional larger table that is original to the boat. Pullman berth behind table and chairs to port. Hanging locker to stbd is the location of the A/C. Port is a magazine rack and counter top.
Down one step into the galley port and head stbd.
Continue on into the fwd stateroom with ensuite shower stall with original Huckins drop down sink (non functional, but has been resorted and is really unique). The fwd stateroom has a v-berth with optional insert that transforms the berth into a queen. Hanging locker storage and built in storage make this stateroom quite comfortable.
4 sleeping berths in total.
The original construction was all wood, but the hull was glassed by Huckins in the early 60's. It has been kept undercover since the 1960s.
