Island Joy is a terrific example of a Pacific NorthWest classic. Her lines are iconic and you can't have grown up boating in the PNW without admiring a Tolly 48 at some point in your adventures. Island Joy has been owned by the same family since 1991 and has only had one other owner. She has been cosmetically upgraded through the years and is ready for the next family adventures. If you've even considered having a vacation cabin, consider one that you can move from island to island as the weather and whim dictates. Come over to my island to take a look at Island Joy, she'll live up to her name. Call Bob Schoonmaker to arrange a showing.
Island Joy is moored on Bainbridge Island at a private marina. To arrange an appointment please call Bob Schoonmaker 206-818-7394 or email@example.com.
All vessels sold through Swiftsure Yachts are sold through our Seattle office and associated taxes apply.
Island Joy is a traditional tri-cabin layout with an intermediate galley section between the main salon and forward cabin. The galley has a sweet dinette. You enter from the stern cockpit and can head up to the stern deck and then to the flybridge. Or walk along a side deck and enter the main salon through doors on either side. The main salon is so large that regular furniture can be used. There is room for several configurations. Currently there is a sectional couch on the port side aft. This is a great place for family to hang while underway, while still being part of the action. The main salon has the helm station with full controls, instrumentation and a color radar/chartplotter. There is a companionway at the aft end of the salon to the aft deck and subsequently to the flybridge. The carpet in the main salon is relatively new and feels great underfoot.
The forward end of the salon looks down into the galley to port and a great little dinette (that converts to a berth) to starboard. Access to the engine space is under the stairs leading to the galley.
Forward of the galley is the forward cabin with a head to port. There are lots of cabinets and hanging lockers as well as a v berth in the forward cabin. The berth is configured such that there are really two berths rather than one large one. Great for siblings.
Aft of the main salon is the owners cabin. A full size walk around bed is located athwartships. To starboard is a full length set of drawers. The owners head with shower is to the port side. This cabin can be completely closed off for privacy. Plenty of ventilation makes for a really comfortable space. Island Joy feels very much like a vacation home as well as a cruising boat.
