TATE is the last of 25 FD-12 Cutters built by Ta Yang Company, the same high quality yard which built the Tayana's. The FD-12 is a powerful, high performance bluewater cruiser, with her positive flotation, high freeboard and her canoe stern. She is a safe and dry boat, capable of cruising the globe. The present owner purchased her in 2002 from her Dutch designer, Willem Eickholt, who personally owned this vessel. Since then, this owner has sailed her to Alaska, transited the Panama Canal in 2010, across the Caribbean and North to Maine. He has made numerous upgrades as specified in the listing above which have totaled about $100,000. TATE is one impressive vessel.
