The Cigale 14 designed by Jean Marie Finot and built by Alubat is the perfect example of a performance cruising sailboat. She is built of aluminum and incredibly strong and light. She is classified as an Ultra Light Displacement Boat.
This Cigale 14 has an extra tall rig with a full compliment of sails for cruising and racing. The oak interior is light and tropical and all of the deck hatches and ports allow plenty of fresh breeze below decks.
The Cigale has the very unique and useful layout of the large dining and seating area directly under the cockpit. She will seat 8 or more very comfortably with large sea berths outboard of the main seating area.
She has an ample galley with fridge and freezer along with a gas stove and plenty of storage through out.
Under the sea berths in the stern quarters are water ballast tanks that can be used on longer passages for better performance.
The aft deck houses the aluminum bottom inflatable dinghy. The outboard is on the stern rail. Under the dinghy on the aft deck are two large storage lockers.
The large cockpit has teak seating surfaces and a large fixed island table with leaves that make a large dining table.
The halyard winch is powered and the cockpit is protected from the weather by a strong form fitting dodger. There are accent lights in the underside of the boom for night time dining.
The rigging is all rod rigging and the sails are in excellent condition. The main halyard is new. The Lewmar hatch gaskets are new.
Forward is the sail locker and in front of that is the anchor locker both with ample storage.
Entering the boat aft is the large dining table capable of seating 8 to 10 adults. Outboard of the dining seats are pilot berths on either side.
In front of the companionway stairs to starboard is the galley with gas stove, plenty of storage, large refrigerator and double sink.
To port is the navigation station with instrumentation, control panels and plenty of storage. Between the galley and the navigation station is the engine room with front, back and side access.
Walking forward to starboard is a single berth with storage and deep freezer underneath.
To port is a double berth with storage and walk through to the shower. Opposite the shower is the single head and shower.
All the way forward is the v berth again with plenty of storage.
The interior is finished in light oak that gives this boat a bright tropical feel. The 9 deck hatches and 6 opening ports allow all of the breeze to make its way inside.
