Hekla is a beautifully finished example of the Atlantic 57 design. The owners utilized the artistry of the builders to customize the interior with fantastic results.
Laminated gloss varnished bamboo trim is at once unconventional and beautiful. Bamboo is extremely durable as well as rapidly grown for sustainable harvest. Fabrics were carefully chosen to mimic the leafy colors of bamboo and the combination is most eye pleasing.
Floors in the accommodation were artistically painted with nautical themes then carefully coated with clear urethane and light non-skid to make them completely durable.
Helka has been lightly used and carefully maintained, she's a great performance cruising boat and is ready to go.
Hulls, decks and pilothouse are constructed from vacuum bagged Epoxy resin and high performance uni-glass fabrics cored with “Core-Cell” SAN foam and PVC foam. Additional laminate of Kevlar on the hull bows for extra collision protection.
All exterior surfaces are spray painted with linear polyurethane "AlexSeal"coating.
Crossbeams are built of uni-directional carbon fiber/epoxy with foam cored epoxy/glass bulkheads.
Extensive use is made of uni-directional carbon fiber reinforcement in high load areas of hulls and decks.
Interior joinerwork and floorboards are all cored panels to provide stiffness at low weight.

A custom fabricated side by side refrigerator/ freezer (7 and 5 cu/ft capacity) is located in the galley, inboard side. Adjustable shelves included in each compartment. Each unit uses a separate highly efficient SeaFrost compressor with electronic control thermostat providing redundancy.
Each hull has a separate aft cabin which contains a large double berth, hanging locker, built in dresser, two bench seats with additional stowage beneath seats and berth. A deck hatch and opening ports provide excellent cross ventilation.
Each hull has a sleeping cabin amidships that contains a large queen sized berth (66"x80"). A hanging locker, built in dresser, storage cabinet and bookshelf is included. A large deck hatch and two opening ports provide ventilation.
Forward in each hull is a head and shower compartment.
Toilets are custom composite bowls for light weight with manual water pump.
Toilets are plumbed to holding tank with valves for overboard discharge as well as pump out.
Each head is equipped with a vanity with polished stainless steel sink with hot/cold pressure water via a chromed single lever mixer. Granicoat laminate counter top and stowage locker beneath. Two large stowage lockers with shelves for towels, etc. are within easy reach.
