Built in 1918 as a Baltic Sea fishing vessel, the boat was bought by the present owners and professionally converted to yacht in 1995. They gave her a graceful gaff ketch rig with a healthy 120sqm of sail which pushes her along well. 9 berths in a separate aft cabin, saloon and forward cabin with full headroom throughout. 155hp Volvo Penta diesel. At 49' she is a manageable yacht, easily sailed by two people. A very stable and safe ship at sea even in very rough weather, she is a beautiful example of the elegant Danish fishing boats.

Wooden Ships Comments
Built in 1918 by the shipyard Boerresen in Vejle as a fishing vessel. She worked until 1984 in the Kattegat area and then moved to fishing grounds further south before retiring and being bought by the present owners in 1995. She was converted and refitted by a very well known and competent yard in Marstal, the home of Danish seafaring, and has been sailed as a private yacht ever since.
She is an exceptionally pretty vessel with a slightly raked stem and a fine entry in the bows, a full mid ships under body and a lovely run aft up to the trade mark elliptical counter that the Danish vessels are so much admired for. She has sweet sheer line, not as pronounced as some of her compatriots which gives her a little more headroom below decks in the waist area.
A very eye catching yacht, with an easily managed rig, which has been well cared for in her experienced present ownership. She is a very safe and stable sailing ship in any weather. There are many examples of these converted fishing boats but few as pretty as this one.

Typical Danish fishing vessel construction, planked in oak fastened to heavy sawn oak frames very closely spaced together.
Deck is straight laid in solid pine, screw fastened from above into the deck beams and the seams are caulked with cotton and payed with pitch.
Painted coverboards with oak stanchions fastened to the sides of the frames. A relatively high bulwark with an oiled capping rail all round. Pin rails for both masts bolted through the stanchions.
Large sampson post on the cenreline with the windlass aft of this.
Deck houses over the saloon and aft cabin. Solid coamings on both deck houses with sheathed pine decks.
9 heavy bronze portholes in the deckhouses, 4 of them opening.
Sliding entrance hatches in both with a skylight just aft of the mainmast.
Gaff ketch rig on solid varnished keel stepped wooden masts. Both main and mizzen are pole masts. Solid varnished wooden booms, gaff yards and bowsprit. Bowsprit mounted over the capping rail to the port side of the stem through a gammon iron and can be run in.
All galvanised mast and rigging fittings.
Galvanise wire standing rigging with swaged eye terminals to galvanised rigging screws to external galvanised chain plates. running backstays on the main mast with block and tackles. Main mast shrouds and backstays replaced in 2013 with the rest of the standing rigging being 18 years old.
Hanked on head sails with an inner forestay to the stem head and outer forestay to the bowsprit end with a block and tackle to tension it.

Centreline shaft to a 2 blade Hundested variable pitch propeller. The blades have been locked in position. Max speed under engine 8.5 knots.
Hydraulic steering system with a wooden wheel mounted on a pedestal on the aft deck. Removable mechanical emergency tiller.

The aft deck house has a sliding hatch into the aft cabin with steps down. There is also a hatch on the starboard side into the separate engine room.
Aft cabin has steps down from the hatch with a navigation area to starboard. Door into the sleeping cabin with a decent size single berth to port under the side deck and a double to starboard.
Entrance into the main cabin through the sliding hatch in the forward deck house. Steps down with the galley to port and heads compartment to starboard. Reflex diesel heater to port forward of the galley runs the central heating system with radiators in both the fore and aft cabin.
Spacious saloon with 6'3" headroom. Varnished oak saloon table offset to starboard with a bench settee berth either side. Port side has a pilot berth and starboard side a double berth behind the saloon settee's under the side decks. Saloon panelling is in T&G varnished pine with oiled oak coamings.
Door to port through the bulkhead into the fore cabin with two single berths on port and one double berth on stbd. Anchor chain locker and spacious storage space in the forepeak.
L-shaped galley with oiled oak work tops and ample storage. 2 burner gimballed gas stove with oven on the aft side of the galley with a single stainless square sink with manually pumped fresh water. Sink drains into a grey water tank and pumped out with a 12v electric pump.
12v fridge under the worktop.
Lots of storage cupboards and drawers, including under the side decks.
Separate heads compartment with a sea toilet manually pumped directly into the waste tank. Hand basin with foot pump water supply.
