A HISTORICAL PIECE!
This vessel is known as the Montvale.
Over 80 years ago, the Montvale was built and used by the United States
Government for the transportation of workers & materials during the construction of Norris Dam.
In 1933, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt boarded this vessel to take part in the dedication of the TVA River System.
Later, the Montvale was purchased at a Government auction in 1947 by a private party.
The family that bought it has owned it ever since.
This vessel is 64’ in length. She features dual helm stations and many cabins
within. Boarding from the port side, you will see a door leading to the inner helm and another leading to the center cabin. A large patio/deck sits at the aft of the boat. At the bow is the upper helm station and an anchor on the deck. The upper helm still has some of the older equipment that was used on the boat. The original telegraphs have not been touched providing a genuine visualization for the time period in which this boat was built.
Her original engine was replaced with a Gray Marine Detroit 671N engine. New electrical panels have been recently installed. This vessel is powered by a Westerbeke generator.
The Montvale is being sold AS-IS.
