Sleeps up to (6) owners and guests in the forward double stateroom plus belowdecks double and two single berths; two enclosed heads with showers.
LAYOUT FROM FORWARD: Chain locker is followed by a forward cabin with 2 single bunks and enclosed head with shower. Aft and up 8 steps lands on the MAIN DECK; PILOTHOUSE HELM is fully fitted with navigation electronics and controls; deck access doors at both port and starboard.
Next aft is the large GALLEY with oil stove, fridge, and sink; followed by the DINING SALOON / CREW MESS with large table & storage plus adjacent side deck access door. Next aft the ventilator stack, electrical panel, and access to the ENGINE ROOM and below deck quarters, which include a king size stateroom & two single berths.
Finally aft is the MAIN SALOON and AFTER DECK with BBQ and chest freezer, access to the steering gear, and last aft a large swim step. Tender chocks and hydraulic hoist are carried on house roof.

Twin Disc 521 reduction gear. Hydraulic power takeoff for anchor windlass; fwd PTO w/25/40 gpm Vickers; 7 gpm Vickers steering pump; 12v 140a Leece Nevile alternator. AUXILLIARY is a Newage genset; INVERTER is an Outback 2800-watt; BATTERIES are in two banks, 32v and 12v systems.
STEERING is hydraulic; RUDDER is steel; 3-1/2" Aquamet tailshaft; PROP is 48" 4-blade. ALSO NOTE: engineroom workbench; 80-gallon hydraulic tank; 50-gallon lube oil tank; (4) 32v Rule bilge pumps; fixed fire suppression system plus portable DC fire extinguishers at fo'c'sle, house and galley. HEADS are Vacuflush.
The 'Sonny Boy' is a plumb stem, fantail stern, heavy displacement commercial fishing vessel, originaly rigged as a gulf coast shrimper. Built round bottomed with full deep keel, centerline diesel power & break timber, she was constructed of yellow cypress over sawn cypress frames in Biloxi MS in 1953.
Planking is 2" yellow cypress; framing is sawn cypress 2-1/2" X 6" double, 16" on center. Beams are 3-1/2" X 7" typical; bulkheads are fir & ply; guards are lignum vitae; galvanized fastened; ceiling full 2"; stringers 5" X 14" w/steel; shelf is 3" X 8"; floors 3"; keel 10" solid; pipe rails; 2" fir DECKS; fir & ply HOUSE.
