Price reduction of $6,000 on May 4th, 2018. New asking price of only $18,900. Fully restored 1959 Chris Craft 24 Sportsman Utility. This particular Chris Craft 24 was reportedly used by the director and crew in shooting the movie "On Golden Pond" starring Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn. So she has ties to this famous Academy Award-winning movie. (Smaller Chris Craft U-22's were the vessels shown in the film.) Her Chevy 283 V-8 was fully re-built in 2016, and produces 185 h.p. She has 11 coats of Epifanes varnish, and looks great. The hull was just redone by one of the Maryland Eastern Shore's wood boat specialists and builders. Two planks were replaced, and the balance is reported to be original.. She has opening windshields, and seating for 5 to 6. Upholstery looks very nice. This Chris Craft 24 Sportsman is ready to enjoy this Summer. (Note: a bunk trailer conveys.)
The 24 Sportsman has an 8-foot beam, and higher freeboard for safer use by anglers, children and sportsmen. The plumb bow and handsome lines made the 24 Sportsman a favorite when introduced. Her bow flare promises drier operation. Only 149 Sportsman Utility 24's were built from 1959 to 1960, so she is a pretty rare boat on the brokerage market today.
A tandem, bunk trailer was just purchased by the owner, and is included in the sale at no additional cost.
The broker added 41 photos of the 24 Sportsman to the listing. Unfortunately, when the boat covers were removed, the boat was dusty with some dirt and pine needles. She will be fully detailed. Sorry for the dust shown in the photos.
