ORINA is an exceptional Expedition Trawler designed by Myles Stapleton NA in Ireland after the North Sea fishing trawlers, and admired the world over. Raised Pilothouse and Flying Bridge steering stations, her exceptionally strong IROKO Teak construction and comfortable accommodations are fitted with fine craftsmanship to provide an ideal yacht for long range cruising, living aboard or chartering. Three generous double staterooms, and crew o/u berths forward.
She is powered by a massive KELVIN T-8 heavy duty (1000RPM) engine, rebuilt by the previous owner, provides 8kts cruising speed at 800RPM's burning 8GPH. Tremendous range is possible on 2000 gallons of fuel.
Her owners, have kept her in impeccable condition and provided the yacht with continuous care and valuable upgrades. Bronze hawse pipes for her dual anchors, deck rails and teak upgrades to the exterior, and more, electronics, galley upgrades and 2 new tenders with outboards, even a saltwater Hot Tub, the list goes on and on.
This yacht has a pedigree that very few vessels can match. Her massive teak construction, slow turning Kelvin engine, hydraulic stabilizers, and elegant accommodations combine to create a unique world cruiser that an owner and guests can truly love. Be it expedition cruising, living aboard or for charter excursions in the "old classic traditions," ORINA is a yacht that will receive favorable notice at any port of the world.
The present owner has made 8 voyages to Alaska in 10 years, chronicled in his book
"INSIDE THE INSIDE PASSAGE: TRUE STORIES FROM THE LAND OF THE SPIRIT BEAR."
She needs some exterior paint to be BRISTOL, and add a life raft, and long range communications and she is ready for another long range voyage.
