OWNER WANTS GONE! MOVED OUT OF STATE. MORE PHOTOS TO FOLLOW. AMAZING SAILBOAT. This boat was designed by Bill Trip Jr. to be a center-cock pit motor-sailer. Columbia yachts built a total of 180 Columbia 45s from 1971 to 1976. They have a great design to be a live aboard as well as for coastal cruising and island hopping. She has a very spacious cabin with headroom through out including two staterooms and two heads. The interior arrangement gives her great flexibility, allowing the configuration to fit a larger crew. There is excellent storage space and decent tankage. She was built with a very sturdy hull and has an easy to manage rig and powerful auxiliary power. Some of the benefits of being designed as a cruising boat are that she does not have a pinched stern, no extreme overhangs, no aggressive initial tenderness, and no huge head sail necessary for power or mizzen sail peculiarities. She has moderate overhangs fore and aft, moderate beam, and a generally conservative yet modern hull form. This makes her sail plans reasonable.
