Classic Sparkman & Stephens design. This is the last boat built of this famous model (#74). Boat has many options and upgrades.
Deborah Cay has been in fresh water since 2000 and very lightly used. She features the classic beautiful lines of a Sparkman and Stephens designed boat that set her apart from most other sailboats. This is a boat that you can't help but notice if you are walking the docks or see her under sail.
The roomy accommodations feature a private aft stateroom that has two large quarterberths with ample storage areas. The aft stateroom has private access to the head along the starboard side. Forward of the head is the navigation station which has a large chart table, electric service panels, comfortable seat, electronics and various storage areas. Across from the navigation station is the fully equipped galley and a hanging locker.
The salon has two straight settees with two pilotberths behind them. There is also a beautiful bi-fold yacht table with storage (currently not kept aboard). The forward cabin has a two berths and several storage areas.
The decks are teak and show very well, they have been replaced in the recent past.
The galley is conveniently located on the port side just forward of the companionway. There is lots of drawer and cabinet storage.
The boat is powered with dependable Perkins 1-107 diesel engine. Engine access is very good. The engine is located under the companionway steps with very easy access. The Northern Lights (Lugger) generator is inside an insulated centerline cabinet in the aft stateroom. To keep the boat comfortable there is a CruiseAir reverse cycle air-conditioning unit (16,000 BTU).
The Deborah Cay was brought to the Great Lakes in 2000. Around this time period new teak decks were installed and all the thru-hulls replaced. Until the present owner bought the boat in 2012 the boat was lightly used in Harbor Springs, MI and maintained by the Irish Boat Shop. In 2002 the topsides were sprayed with Flag Blue Awlgrip. During the present owner's tenure the bottom was striped and an epoxy barrier coat put on (2014). The underbody has a fin keel and a skeg mounted rudder.
The boats sail inventory includes a Mack mainsail with a Mack pack stowing system (2007), Mack jib, storm jib, North .75 spinnaker, North blooper(star cut),Quantum .75 spinnaker and a UK asymmetric runner (2014).
The mast is a single spreader aluminum keel stepped masthead unit.
