The Bristol 32 was designed by German born Dieter Empacher (recognized as one of America’s prominent designers). Bristol Yachts was founded by Clinton Pearson. He and his cousin Everette Pearson (who passed in 2017) started making dinghies out of their garage and then within a year founded Pearson Yachts that enjoyed a fast corporate expansion which lead to cash flow problems and the company was sold out to Grumman Allied in 1961. Clinton bought out troubled sailboat maker Sailstar in RI in 1964 and moved to the abandoned Herreshoff boatyard and then changed the company name to Bristol Yachts in 1966 (and phased out Sailstar) which produced their first model, the Bristol 27 designed by Carl Alberg. The company operated until 1997 building wonderful boats from 27’ and into the mid-50’ range. The Bristol 32, offered as a sloop, cutter or ketch, had a run of over 300 hulls from 1966 to 1983. She is a robust offshore cruising vessel with full keel ballasted with lead and attached rudder. She has a fairly traditional interior layout with a double cabin forward, an enclosed head and vanity aft to port and port and starboard settees in the main salon. There is a main salon table that folds against the bulkhead when not in use. Nice teak interior and teak and holly sole. The galley is aft starboard of the companionway. She has a deck stepped masthead rig. This boat has had 3 owners and used only in fresh water. She has not been in the water for a handful of years and owners are selling because their sailing interests lie more with performance and day sailing rather than cruising. This boat ended up in their laps from a previous divorce and they just want to move it on to an appreciative buyer. The interior is in excellent condition. The exterior just needs care consistent with annual maintenance. The boat is sitting in a marina boat yard, mast up and shrink wrapped. They are motivated sellers
