In the owners words when he purchased the Frers design:With our excellent experience of aluminium as a boat material with the building of "Northabout" with which we successfully completed the North West Passage, I confined ny search to aluminium. In the Adratic was an elegant looking 45 footer. I could see that she was well built, a thoroughbred. She was a racer, now converted to Mediterranean cruising, but with over complex instrumentation, piping and wiring. Her engine was a Mercedes diesel - solid. I bought her and arranged new standing rigging, including removal of the hydraulics on the fore and back stays. After over 15 years of "Expedition" cruising this fine vessel is now offered for dale.
