Family owned for the last 25 years by knowledgeable sailors who have cared for and extensively sailed this serious bluewater vessel with heavy displacement and traditional features reminiscent of the Westsail 32!
The Kaiser Gale force 34 is a full keel bluewater boat with classic traditional lines, heavy displacement, and a cutter rig designed by John Kaiser. Only 35 of these beautiful small production bluewater vessels were commissioned to be built by John Kaiser from 1974 to 1985 at his boat building shop on the banks of the Christina river in downtown Wilmington, DE. The design is very reminiscent of the Westsail 32. The Westsail 32 and Gale Force 34 share exceptional woodwork and craftsmanship, heavy displacement with full keels, traditional sheer lines with elegant overhangs, and their ability to safely circumnavigate even by way of the three great capes.
Like the Westsail 32, the Gale Force 34 it is set up to be single handed and lived aboard. Perfect for a cruising couple, a family, or an adventurous singlehanded sailor paying homage to the likes of legends such as Moitessier and Knox-Johnson. She is a very stable and solid boat with tons of storage for offshore and long-distance sailing.
Second Wind has been a family owned vessel for the last 25 years and she has very much been a part of the family. It's been a difficult decision to put her on the market, but it's time for her to be in the active command of a new skipper and crew.
The vessel was recently under contract and surveyed. The previous buyers decided it wasn't the right boat for them as the survey revealed a list of projects that would be needed in order to restore her to her original glory. The survey is available for purchase from the previous buyers and we'd be happy to get quotes on anything that the survey states need to be addressed. The vessel is in a wetslip at our marina and we have a full service boatyard capable of making the repairs.
