Sea Raven is a “One-of-a-kind”, 1982 Krogen Custom, Ocean Multi-40, auxiliary Pilot House Motorsailer-Ketch designed by Jim Krogen, and is a custom modification of the Krogen 38 cutter sailboat design. From 1981 to 1992 eighty five of the Kadey-Krogen 38 Cutters were built at Trans Pacific Marine, Taiwan, and while all were custom built with various options (like full keel or centerboard) it seems that only two of them had the optional ketch rig, and apparently this is the only one with the optional pilothouse and 40 ft.
This specific Multi 40 Ketch (No. 12 of the 85, Krogen 38 hulls) is longer (39.7 ft or 39 ft 8 in)) than the standard 38 cutter (38.16’ or 38 ft 2in). Further, it is not a full keel version with 5 ft draft like the Pelican, but instead this Multi 40 has the 3/4 keel with skeg rudder and 5’-6” draft. She has the classic clipper bow, with trail-boards and a pirate stern, for a combination which makes this unique yacht a true, one of a kind, collector’s item.
This bluewater passagemaker has a bow thruster, dual station helm, Autohelm Nav Center with TriData Sounder and ST 50 autopilot. She has ample room with dual heads and two staterooms. This boat has a survey in hand from May 2018 and had a bottom job at that time.
This is a very rare boat! You don't want to miss this one!
