A unique opportunity to acquire one of Morris Yachts’ favorite designs from the drawing board of Chuck Paine, this gorgeous double-ender was built at the Southwest Harbor (ME) facilities with a dedication to structure, an internationally known level of craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality and durability that shows in her every detail. Hand-built and ready to cruise the world, she was purchased by her last owner through Morris in 1996, who had a custom Triad trailer built so she could be hauled back from Maine to the Great Lakes. In 2010 she underwent a substantial refit that included new non-skid on decks and cockpit, new portlights, new feathering propeller, new Dutchman flaking system, new Alder Barbour fridge/freezer, new Edson Pedestal, new dodger and bimini, and crucially, a new Westerbeke 18HP 2-cylinder engine. She then cruised from the Chicago area to the west end of Lake Superior; from Jacksonville Florida to the Bay of Fundy and on to New Brunswick; and then back to Lake Michigan, where she was purchased by her current owner in 2016. She then underwent another refit at the Larsen Marine yard in Waukegan, including $20,000.00 in new Garmin electronics (chartplotter, radar, autopilot, bulkhead instruments, XM weather – all still under warranty) and a complete $10,000.00 bottom job including soda blast, sanding, fairing, barrier coat and VC17 application. Kristina is currently available for inspection on the hard at Larsen Marine in Waukegan. Her price includes the trailer. The owner is pursuing other interests and inspections are encouraged.
