Live aboard from Nov 2010 to Feb 2015. Competed 82 days of sailing during my ownership. The about half of those sails were day sails in San Diego. Never went to Mexico. Took weekend trips to Catalina, Newport Beach, and Dana Point. Singlehanded to San Fransico Nov 12 and returned in Apr 13 with crew. The heaviest seas I have seen in the boat were 15’ with sustained winds at 40knts gusting to 50. The AutoPilot could handle 40 knts but got overwhelmed when the 50 knt gusts hit. We were sailing with the seas at out aft quarter fully reefed main only.
Apr 11. Replaced ignition switch. Pull all the way out to start, push in one notch to run (enables engine hour gage. Push all the way in and press grey button to kill the engine. Engine hour reading is only what I have put on it. It had no gage when I bought the boat.
May 11. Purchased a 6 HP Tohatsu Outboard and an Achilles Lsi-260 Inflatable Boat. ($2600.00) (Not registered)
Jun 11. Installed a Lazy Jack on the main.
Aug 11. Built custom coxswain seat out of Mahogany. Drilled and epoxy filled soft spots on deck aft starboard of pilot house and aft of the mizzen.
Mar 12. Installed Simrad AP24 autopilot and IS20 Wind System. Custom Marine Electronics in SD completed the hydraulic pump installation. ($4130.00) Replaced raw water pump in engine.
Apr 12. Completely disassembled engine cooling system. Removed broken zincs from the heat exchanger.
May 12. Repainted the forward cabin.
Jun 12. Installed the Dinghy Davit and Stainless Stern Rail (Benchmark). ($4,800.)
Aug 12. Installed Solar panels. House bank 4 X 208 amp hr. = 832 ah. 3 x Solar panels in good light 7 ah each per hour = 21 ah. If you average 6 hours of good sunlight it accumulates 126 ah per day. Average consumption is around 10-12 ah while underway. We spent 5 days without 110v power running the pilot about 10 hours a day and had plenty of 12v power. Purchased EPirB, lost the receipt.
Sep 12. Installed the Norcold 12v/110v refrigerator. Installed wireless remote for Maxwell Windlass.
