This traditional trunk cabin trawler—built by Bluewater Marine in Taiwan—continues to enjoy wide popularity on today’s used market. She’s constructed on a solid fiberglass hull with a deep forefoot, a moderate 14'2" beam, and a long keel that protects the prop and rudders.
This yacht's floorplan depicted above with two roomy staterooms and with the galley aft in the salon. The helm is to starboard in the salon and an L-shaped settee is to port.
Twin sliding salon doors provide easy access from the salon to the decks. In the standard layout, a door in the aft stateroom allows direct access to the cockpit—a desirable feature in the eyes of many experienced cruisers.
A tub/shower is featured in the aft head compartment. The varnished teak interior of the DeFever 41 reflects the quality woodworking skills of most Asian boat builders of this era.
Wide side decks with raised bulwarks all around make getting around easy. The teak decks and railings of the DeFever 41 take some effort to maintain, but for many owners they add much to the boats overall appeal.
A single 135hp Lehman diesel—cruise at 7–8 knots at about 1.5 Gallons/Hour.
