She is an absolute classic blue water cruising boat that has been used little and loved lots. She has served as a gentleman's weekend get away boat for many years and has benefited from great care and indoor storage in the off season. Andante is ready for your vacation cruise in Maine this Summer! She is commissioned and in the water now. She can be easily shown and is only minutes for the highway.
The Mason 44's had a good long production run and earned a great following with many of them making circumnavigations. They are supported by an active owners group and remain in good demand today. Andante is in extraordinary condition and represents the finest craftmanship to come out of Ta Shing in the late 80's. She is priced to move quickly and is no project boat. Don't hesitate.

Overall, the satin finished interior joinery is in the best condition this broker has ever seen on a boat of this vintage. With a little sweeping and dusting she is boat show ready. Her interior upholstery could use cleaning but will easily serve her new owners for many years.
This is where the Mason 44 starts to show her true blue water nature. Her deep cockpit with bridge deck and high coamings keep her crew and helmsman safe and comfortable. The low dodger and coach offer good visibility while keeping plenty of structure between helm and waves. Andante is served by electric primaries, power utility and manual secondary winches.
Her stainless steel binnacle carries the instrument readouts, a chart plotter, drink holder and cockpit table. The sole is teak grated and the seats are further examples of the yacht's care and construction. The four lockers are designed with high quality hardware and deep water ways. The propane locker is located at the companionway and offers enough room for two 20lb propane tanks.
There is main engine control panel that includes all exterior lighting controls, windlass control, auto pilot head and a power utility winch on the coach roof to serve the boom furling main sail's halyard. All control lines are left aft to the cockpit for safe short or single handed sailing.
All of this utility is surrounded by Bristol brightwork and protected with dodger and Bimini.

Andante has been well served by her previous owners. Her teak decks and cockpit have not been abused or misused. They will continue to serve her new owners for many, many years to come. Her teak toe rail, eye brow and grab rails are well varnished and maintained. She sheds water well through multiple scuppers.
The coach carries many opening ports stainless steel dorades and hatches. All hatches have canvas covers. She is equipped with a removable staysail stay the stores at the mast pulpit on starboard for easy deployment. She has running back stays to support the loads from the staysail that store forward of the jib tracks. She offers easy access to the foredeck and mast with plenty of hand holds. All of her deck equipment is well found and very robust. She is no plastic fantastic.
Her foredeck offers easy access to windlass and tackle. With the removable inner stay stowed there is plenty of room for sunning.

The Mason 44 uses a moderately cut away full keel with attached rudder, prop in aperture design. She will track well and hold her line to windward while fighting roll well to leeward. The close proximity of the prop to the rudder will help manouvring via the prop wash while her long overhang slender transom will keep her quiet while at rest. Above the water line she is slender and sleek with a slight tumble home amidship. Her sheer line is one of the prettiest afloat. Her transom could very easily accommodate davits.
The bow of the boat is rounded at the bow with ample pitch and flare to provide good water shedding and soft landings. Even when heeled the boat will deflect water well. Her gelcoat looks to be in really good condition.
Andante is a head turning blue water design that will serve any owner proudly where ever she goes. She is well equipped for coastal cruising and will make someone a luxurious vacation home on the water this season. If you are looking for heavy, comfortable, beautiful boat, she could well be the one. Call or email today to arrange a showing.
