The vessel has the standard 2-cabin Catalina 42 layout as follows. From the large aft cockpit, the companionway leads to the main cabin with large private double quarter berth cabin to starboard and the galley to port. The 2-cabin version allows for a larger galley area and a "garage" (to port and aft of the galley) where equipment can be installed and stored.
Opposite the galley (and forward of the starboard Cabin) is a guest head compartment with toilet, basin and shower. The head is accessed from the main cabin and from the quarter cabin.
Forward from the base of the companionway is the main cabin with a circular dinette and table to port and a single settee/berth to starboard. The dinette may be lowered so that the port settee can be converted to a queen-sized berth. The main cabin offers comfortable seating for eight as well as plenty of storage above, behind and below the seating.
Forward of the main cabin is the master stateroom with a large pullman berth to port and storage to starboard. Continuing forward, there is a large, private ensuite head, featuring a toilet, sink and separate shower area.
Access to the forepeak locker is gained from the shower.
