At one time the Catana catamarans built in this era were the ones to have! Built using Twaron Carbon Fiber for weight saving making a light, fast catamaran with the benefit of daggerboards giving an unbelievable shallow draft that could sail in a puddle and enabling the catamaran to get much closer to the wind.
With her unique “tulip” style hulls cutting through the water effortlessly added to this already great performers abilities
A unique safety feature promoted by Catana was that in steep seas the catamaran could slide down a wave sideways without tripping on the keels.
Unlike many of the production catamarans at the time, these performance cruisers offered better build quality and came with many optional extras included in the sale.
Size wise this boat is an ideal Mediterranean cruiser, small enough to get into shallow berths in marinas and bays where others fear to tread, but equally a competent ocean crosser taking you wherever you want to be.
This is a rare weapon and ready for new adventures on the high seas! This one will not stick around!

Catana enjoys the reputation as the builder of the fastest production luxury catamarans. Design features unique to Catana are: - Asymmetrical hulls, which help prevent hobby horsing and aids in preventing the leeward hull from being buried in a wave when sailing to windward at high speeds. In addition, all weight is concentrated toward the center of the hulls making sure weight is kept to a minimum forward of the mast. - Daggerboards, which offer very shallow sailing with boards up and closer windward sailing angles with boards down. In addition, there is an extra margin of safety when sailing in heavy wind-sea conditions due to the ability to raise the daggerboards and "slide" off the face of extremely high waves. Each Catana is constructed using vacuum-molded unidirectional roving impregnated with isophthalic resin. Kevlar and carbon fiber are used in high load-stress areas. The entire structure is cored with high-density Divinycell closed cell foam and all bulkheads are vacuum molded and cored with end-grain balsa. Each customer has total input as to the design and finish of their interior. Sailing a catamaran doesn't have to remind you of driving a bus. If you enjoy the thrill of sailing, prefer better all-around performance without sacrificing safety, and demand the highest quality, then you owe it to yourself to closely inspect a Catana catamaran. The Catana 381 is the latest model to be introduced. Unique to this model is the single helm station located aft on the centerline and raised for excellent 360-degree visibility. Hull number one on her maiden sea-trial recorded 18.2 knots (sustained) in 24 knots of true wind. The galley and nav-station are on the same level as the saloon and standard layouts include the owner's version with one hull devoted to the owner's suite and the charter version with two staterooms and one head compartment in each hull. Twin inboard diesel engines are located aft of the living quarters with excellent access via the transoms.
