The hull, deck and superstructure are all in white GRP. She has a fin keel with 1550Kg of ballast and a fin & skeg rudder with wheel steering in an aft style cockpit.
Owners version with double aft cabin to stbd, comprising 6 berths in total in 2 cabins excluding saloon and a single heads with additional wash basin in forward cabin.
Forward cabin has a spacious double berth in "V" with wash basin to stbd and storage locker to port. Full head room with a forward hatch providing natural light.
Saloon is spacious and well laid out with ample storage space and full headroom throughout. Horseshoe seating to stbd with table which lowers to form a double berth and seating to port. The Galley is "L" shaped and to stbd opposite the heads and comprises a 2 burner gas stove with oven and twin stainless steel sinks with hot & cold pressurised water and a top loading fridge with freezer box.
Navigation station is to port in the saloon and has a chart table which is forward facing and single seat.
The heads compartment is to port aft of the navigation stations and features a shower and wash basin with hot & cold pressurised water and a toilet. Electric shower bilge pump.
Owners aft cabin with a very spacious thwartships double berth extending under the cockpit and ample storage space in various lockers and shelves.
The interior is finished in light oak and teal velour upholstery and there is Eberspacher heating in all cabins including the heads. The saloon has a fitted carpet (from new) which if removed would reveal near perfect as new cabin sole flooring.
Powered by a Yanmar 3GM30F 27hp inboard marine diesel engine with shaft drive to a 3 blade fixed prop.
The ships 12v electrical system has a control panel at the navigation station and is powered by 3 batteries.
Sloop rigged with aluminium spars and double aft swept spreaders which are all supported by stainless steel standing rigging.
Easily navigated wide side decks lead to the spacious foredeck which is all secured by a stainless steel pulpit, alloy toerail supporting alloy stanchions and double stainless steel guard wires and stainless steel quarter pushpits.
A very well maintained and cared for example of this popular cruising yacht which is being sold reluctantly due to change in personal circumstances. She has been in current ownership since 2005 with only one previous owner. Astar has never been raced and has only been lightly used over the years. She has been wintered ashore with engine professionally serviced on an annual basis after relaunch. Her rigging was examined by Owen Sails in 2016 and the forestay replaced. In 2015 the navigation equiment was all updated and moved to the helm. Astar of Down comes with an extensive inventory and is already antifouled and ready to sail away.
