This 58 Sonship is actively used and fully updated, fully serviced and ready to go cruising. As a matter of fact, the owners have her all ready to go for the season as they were planning to cruise her extensively throughout the Salish Sea this Summer as they always do. They didn't know at that time that they would stumble onto their next dream boat and end up being two boat owners. So while they have loved this 58 for many great years (and memories), it was time for them to move up and now this well loved beauty is available for her next loving owner.
The mechanical service is all up to date and everything on this boat works. She is literally ready to go cruising THIS SEASON and with some big money spent on upgrades in recent years.

A huge part of the 58 Sonship's success over the years was her expansive and open cockpit. Ideal for both entertaining and also for fishing and crabbing. And very clever how the remote docking station in the cockpit folds into a cabinet when not in use.
Open the hatch to the Lazerette and you'll see a nice stairway down to expansive storage and mechanical space. Easy to get in and out of and big enough to store large items like bikes and crab pots.
Just forward of the Lazerrette hatch is the engine room hatch. So nice that they put this hatch in the cockpit so mechanic's can get easy access without going through the salon.
The large flybridge on the 58 is accessed from either a direct ladder from the cockpit or an interior staircase from the pilothouse. The aft section of the flybridge is large enough to carry a 14' inflatable tender, which is lifted up and down via a hydraulic davit. The hydraulic's for the davit (as well as the anchor winch and the thrusters) comes off the main engines.
Included in this sale is a 14' inflatable Zodiac, with a 2018 Yamaha 50HP outboard. The tender includes stereo, GPS, depth finder and more. A very nice excursion boat!
The forward section of the flybridge is fully includes with newer canvas that keeps this area clean, dry and comfortable. With L-Shaped seating to Port and dual helm seating behind the helm, everyone gets a view and can help the helmsman keep a good watch.
There is also an additional fridge/freezer on the bridge, newer upgraded Garmin MFD, VHF, Auto-pilot control, spotlight control, digital engine display's, and even a tri-data display.
The Pilothouse is considered the primary helm on a 58 Sonship and is equipped accordingly. Dual Garmin MFD's, Duel digital engine display's, Northstar back-up GPS also feeds GPS signal to Laptop running nobletech software. VHF, Tri-data display, Generator start/stop panels for both generators as well as engine gauges for both generators, Spot light controls, Stabilizer controls, trim tab controls and even watermaker control panel. It's a clean and straight forward layout that gives the Capt all the critical information he/she needs right there from the primary helm station.
A great open layout for both entertaining and extended cruising. The custom sofa is only a couple year old and is a top of the line sleeper sofa with storage. The barrel chairs were recently re-upholstered and are in great shape. The current owner only used the TV to occasionally watch DVD's, so never activated the SAT TV system. But the system is there and could easily be activated by a new owner.
With one of the larger galley's in class, this boat is certainly designed for extended cruising. Large full size refrigerator and freezer, upgraded wine Captain, dishwasher, 4-burner stove top, double basin sink, and abundant storage.
Opposite the galley (but still up n the pilothouse level) is the dedicated wrap around dinette. Great views, handy location and it was all just re-upholstered last year (along with the Captains seat), so everything is in like new condition.
The three stateroom, two head layout features a full beam (mid-ship) master that was truly ahead of it's time. In modern boats, this is almost a much have, but back in 1998, it was more of a rare treat. The master features opening windows on both sides for cross ventilation, a huge walk-in closet and lots of storage everywhere you look. Also in the master is the separate washer and dryer, which works MUCH more efficiently than a combo unit.
On the Port side of the vessel in the master is the master head with separate shower AND SOAKING TUB! A very nice addition for the occasions when you want it.
Forward from the Master and on port side you will find the bunk room. But don't be discouraged by the bunks. The current owner has adult children who are well over 6' and they comfortably fit on these bunks. And there is a lot of storage in this room too, so it really is a functional room.
Opposite the bunk room is the 2nd head that is shared with the bunk room and the forward VIP quarters. This head is a full head with large separate shower for guests and family.
And all the way forward is the VIP suite with lots of hanging locker space, walk-around island berth, TV, stereo, lots of storage and a large hatch for natural light and fresh air.
This fresh water boat has been owned by a very experienced yachtsman, so no surprise that the engine room is clean and well sorted. There is easy walking space between (and around) the two engines and all service is completely up to date. Dip sticks on center-line for easy checking, Sight gauges on fuel tanks. Fire extinguishing system, all brand new hoses and pumps for head/holding tank system, electric hydraulic pump for stabilizer system, dual racor fuel seps for both engines (plus racor filters for both generators), Many engine hoses replaced at last engines service (preventative), newer oil change system, both generators in sound shields and so much more. A very well cared for space with lots of attention to preventative maintenance for trouble free boating.
The current owner cruised the Salish Sea extensively every Summer, sometimes spending months at a time on the boat. This is NOT an "old boat" that has been sitting! She has been very well cared for and just finished her 2020 Spring prep to head north when the owners found their next dream boat. A new owner can literally bang the keys and go boating tomorrow on this one. Very rare.
Again, many upgrades on the electrical side of things as well, starting with dual Onan generators. These generators are designed to either split the load (if running all Air Conditioning units and more at once) or can be managed for either gen to power the entire panel when less total power is needed.
There is also an inverter system for running 120V critical systems while sitting quietly at anchor (like refrigerators and entertainment).
This boat also features a Yacht-O-Matic shore power isolation and boost system to protect the ships systems from power spikes on shore power and to automatically switch power to best available source (very advanced for the age of the vessel). And she even has a Glendenning cable master for easy handling of the 50A shore power cable.
