The Nauticat 331 is based on the popular and well known Nauticat 33. This traditional motorsailer has now been, after several modifications, in production for over 45 years. The effortless operation, superb comfort and careful arrangement of interiors have created a demand resulting in over 1290 hulls built to date. The Nauticat 331 traditional motorsailer that, with its sisters the 38 and 441, is unique, in terms of volume inside, easy handling, durability, safety standards, modern cruising capabilities, the level and possibilities for customising the yachts according to specific needs and environments. The 331 features side doors with fitted lower wood storm covers to the pilothouse, it has is a raised aft decks and is rigged as a ketch, as truly classics should be. The Nauticat 331 has a fin keel rather than a long keel on its predecessor the Nauticat 33 and more recent 441.
Customised by Nauticat specifically for its first owner, “Taiva” has a number of modifications and extras over the standard 331 specification, including; in-mast reefing, a 1.6m keel, fixed S/S steps at stern, ergonomically placed instrumentation, extra roof-lights in pilot house and aft cabin, beige roll-shutters, larger dinette cabinet doors with the aft locker providing storage for bottles and the foward locker hole-plates for whiskey glasses, and a holding tank.

Steering position with full instrumentation, an extra large chart table with storage under, and engine controls that are at the helmsman's fingertips. All instruments are illuminated for night use. Overhead lighting as well as a chart light are provided, as are the windshield wipers. Ventilation is provided by two deck hatches and the two pilothouse doors to port and starboard. Additional storage for miscellaneous sailing gear, fixed seats for three persons. Fire extinguisher, lounge settees and an opening table make this area a centre for comfortable entertainment. There is an additional roof-light in above the chart table and sofa, with roller shutters on both pilothouse hatches. A PC printer is built in at the top of the starboard-side, middle locker.
