The Oyster 61 offers a superlative combination of comfort, accommodation, and performance for a yacht of this size. Her sleek, deck saloon superstructure complements her well-balanced proportions, giving her elegant lines and a stylish profile that will stand out in any port around the world. With owners from all five continents, the Oyster 61 enjoys a truly international recognition. Several 61s are now based in the Caribbean and USA region, with others as far afield as Singapore and Australia. The Oyster 61 has powerful hull lines, with good form stability and a high performance, low center of gravity, bulb keel. This combination gives the yacht excellent all-round sailing capabilities and exceptional seakeeping qualities. The Oyster 61 is well-proven as a blue water passage-maker and has already logged some exceptional daily runs in cruising trim. Like her larger sisters, the hull-to-deck connection features a raised bulwark which allows the yacht to have a graceful sheer while retaining flat side decks. This makes for a visually sleek outboard profile further enhanced by the "eyebrow" atop the deck saloon itself. From the helm position, undisturbed forward vision is offered. Deck to cockpit access is made easier by a series of neat steps from the end of the aft coachroof and an ingenious step molded into the side of the cockpit coamings. The cockpit is unusually large for a yacht of her size and can seat up to ten family and friends. The interior layout offers virtually unlimited custom possibilities, with no less than thirteen different accommodation variants already designed. Included in the wide choice available to each and every owner is the option of a fifth, twin guest cabin or a dedicated machinery room. The Oyster 61 can easily carry all the liveaboard comforts expected of a true oceangoing yacht, such as dishwasher, washer-dryer, icemaker, watermaker, air conditioning, etc. - as well as the option of a bath or shower tub in the owner's heads. There is also a choice between the popular centerline berth in the owner's stateroom, or a space-saving offset double berth, which will allow the installation of an optional second companionway to the deck from the owner's cabin, if required. We are pleased to provide advice on the layout and configuration best suited to each owner's needs. We offer every prospective owner access to our library of interior layout plans from which to choose, with the possibility to mix areas from different drawings. Alternatively, the Oyster design studio will be pleased to create a new interior layout, matched to ensure that your requirements can be met as closely as possible. The Oyster 61 is designed realistically, proportioned for operation by a private owner and family crew. On deck the main winches are powered and, for true shorthanded sailing, hydraulic headsail and mainsail furling can be chosen as an option. She is also large enough for up to two professional crew to be carried, as a viable option for the owner and his family who wish to enjoy the full amenities normally only found on a much larger yacht.
