Unrivalled beauty, elegance, comfort and safety, designed and built to a very high standard, with no expense spared, for shorthanded or fully-crewed inshore and offshore cruising. Many innovative features provide for ease of operation and maintenance. Emphasis on strength, safety, performance and redundancy provides you peace of mind.
Catamaran speciality naval architects, Gino Morelli and Pete Melvin custom designed and engineered Adagio to meet the owners' requirements. Renowned New Zealand shipwright, Allan Legge, was engaged to undertake the build process, using state of the art construction procedures to guarantee a strong and light weight performance yacht. The boat is constructed of vacuum-bagged epoxy impregnated E-Glass sandwich, with carbon fibre added to reinforce high stress areas and designed to be virtually unsinkable, with two watertight bulkheads in each bow, plus bulkheads separating the engine rooms aft from the living areas.
Large, all-purpose salon, with 360 degree visibility, fully functional helm station including internal steering, anchoring and engine controls, superb seating around the birds eye maple table, and exceptional galley for your daily living and entertainment. Stylish accommodation for six in two separate hulls and two heads provide for privacy and comfort. Extensive, easy-to-access interior and exterior storage spaces.
Adagio I is fully equipped with the best systems for which there is also an extensive inventory of spares. Your propulsion from two 47 hp Yanmar diesel engines, your power from a 10KW generator, large integral tanks for diesel and water. Heating and air conditioning throughout. Water maker with new membrane ready to be installed. Luxurious modern clothes washer and dryer. The owner's workshop is large and fully equipped. Separate "machinery space".
On deck, the suit of roller-furling Doyle sails plus socked spinnaker, with control lines leading to three powerful winches (two are electric) in the efficiently laid-out cockpit, where the entertainment area is separate from the sail handling area. Safe and efficient redundant anchoring systems on the foredeck and stern, with a total of four anchors on board.
A powerful, Kevlar and epoxy catamaran tender, custom designed by Morrelli and Melvin, with easy access to and from the water via an electrically powered lifting system sits on the aft deck area.
Adagio has been meticulously maintained at all times. A full refit in 2016 brought Adagio to as-new condition, exterior and interior, plus numerous improvements and upgrades. The original owners cruised 60,000 nm aboard, during 19 years in the Pacific, with 200 plus nautical mile days regularly maintained when required. Their adventures and technical information have been recorded on their web site, www. Adagio journal. Com. A detailed and proven Operations Guide is available.
