The ex. "Lenora D" is the flush-deck motor yacht model of the Grand Alaskan 65'. A most comfortable feature of this model is that from the aft-deck all the way forward on the main deck to the wheelhouse is on the same level and without any steps.
This yacht design features a four stateroom layout with 3 full heads plus a day-head on the main-deck level. The galley is up and the spacious engine room which features full standing headroom spans the full width of the beam measurement. The master's stateroom is completely private, also spans the full width of the yacht's beam measurement and is separated from the guest's accomodations by the engine room.
An fiberglass swim-platform integral to the hull is aft of the transom and a transom door leads from here up to the cockpit. Steps lead up from the cockpit to the covered aft-deck where there is a comfortable bench seat built-in, a Samsung flat-screen TV and this area may be enclosed with a custom designed and installed eisenglas/sunbrella sun-shield. Wing-doors to port and starboard lead forward from the aft-deck to the safe and covered walk-around side-decks and these lead forward to the Portuguese bridge and forward of this onto the foredeck with cushioned bench seating or; one may enter the traditionally styled and nautically decorated saloon through dual teak doors.
Upon entering the saloon, a 26" Samsung HDTV with a teak liquor cabinet over is immediately to the starboard side with access to the master's stateroom and engine room gained via a stairway just forward of this. A surround sound stereo system with Bose speakers provides high quality audio. Across the saloon from the TV on port side an "L" shaped settee is built-in and has a teak hi/lo coffee/dining table just in front. A Maine Blue granite counter with 3 swiveling bar-stools is forward to the port side and opens the galley to the saloon. Across to starboard is a built-in teak writer's desk w/ stool and lamp. A pantry locker and day head is just forward of this and the large, well-equipped "U" shaped galley with updated stainless steel appliances and handsome Maine Blue granite counter tops are on the port side all the way forward in the saloon. The whole of the main-deck level is very well-lighted naturally with large windows and all of the windows have teak levolor blinds. The interior is built of satin finished teakwood and the sole throughout is teak & holly.
The pilothouse with well-equipped lower helm station and Stidd helm chair on the centerline is positioned all the way forward on the main deck level. An "L" shaped dinette/settee with teak hi/lo table located aft of the helm converts to create a large, comfortable watch-berth and side-doors to port and to starboard lead out to the side-decks. A teak stairway leads up from the pilothouse to the flybridge/boat-deck and another wide teak staircase leads forward and down to the guest's accommodations three (3) additional staterooms.
The guest accommodations feature three staterooms and 2 heads. The VIP guest stateroom is amidship, features a queen-size berth and a private head with shower en-suite. The second and third guest's staterooms are forward and share a head with separate stall shower. The 2nd guest's stateroom features a double berth on the centerline and has a private entrance into the guest's head. The 3rd guest's stateroom features over/under single bunk berths.
The fly-bridge has a fiberglass hard-top over the helm, 2 Stidd pedestal mounted chairs for the helmsman and a companion are mounted just aft and a large ''L" shaped settee and 2 cocktail tables that accommodates 6-8 persons. A FBG cabinet houses a Norcold refrigerator/freezer w/ ice-maker, sink and S/S LPG BBQ grill. The open boat-deck located just aft of the FB is a large area which easily chocks the 15' RIB Tender and would also a jetski and other "toys" (if desired).

The owner's captain advises that @ 9 knots cruising speed the fuel consumption rate is 20 GPH and at 13 knots cruising speed, the fuel consumption is approximately 50 GPH. Given a 200 gallon reserve, the cruising range is estimated to be 600 nmi at 9 knots and 350 nmi at 13 knots. This author believes that a 200 gallon fuel reserve is quite conservative and that the actual range is greater.
The Grand Alaskan 65 Flush-deck motor yacht is an exceptional cruising design. The yacht's covered walk around side-decks, Portuguese bridge forward and shoal draft hull design combine to make the vessel ideal for extended cruising of the Bahamas, Chesapeake Bay and/or South Florida. The design of the Grand Alaskan 65' enables the yacht to be managed with or without professional crew aboard.
The ex “Lenora D” is clean, well-equipped, nicely updated and well-maintained example of this proven liveaboard/cruising yacht design. Hull # 27 with the yacht's recently awlgripped exterior, relatively low original engine hours, strong engines and recent updates is, “the
best of the best”.
