Large enough for sailing with 4 adults and manageable in light air by one, the Hunter 170 is a beautiful design. The headsail is on a Harken rollerfurler system, again making the boat easy to singlehand or handle w/your spouse in breezy conditions. The open transom, while looking snazzy and clean, is most useful in getting in out of the boat while swimming or just goofing off. Additionally, it makes it incredibly easier to get in and out of the boat while rigging the boat on the trailer - - no more need for carrying a ladder to rig the boat.
The motor mount on one side of the transom allows you to install a 2hp outboard or even a trolling motor. Rooke Sails has a good selections of daysailors, so come by and compare. Then let's hitch one up to your car and get you and your family sailing. These boats are small enough that you can tow them behind the average sized car with no problem! Let us know how to assist.
This particular one owner Hunter 170 is equipped with an asymmetrical spinnaker to add to the excitement off wind. The optional outboard bracket is mounted and read for use.
We will be happy to assist in going through the rigging and making sure that you are comfortable rigging the boat. We also offer for the new sailor the option of sailing instruction. So, what are you waiting for??? Gas may be on the rise back to $5.00/gallon, but the wind is still FREE!!!
IT'S YOUR MOVE!!!
