The interior is very bright, spacious and open, with windows on all sides. There is a large, C-shaped Settee to starboard, with a huge table. The settee seats six comfortably, with 360 degree views. Upholstery is an off-white canvas cloth type material. The cabinetry has a plastic laminate, simulating a high-gloss maple finish. The layout of the salon and cockpit is ideal for entertaining, with everything on one convenient level. The 17'4" beam makes the boat incredibly spacious! A forward settee has seats for two more, not including the lower helm. The forward-most side windows are sliders, providing excellent cross-ventilation. Recent upgrades include:
The galley is to port on the main level, so the cooks can enjoy the great views along with everyone else! Features include:
The lower helm has excellent visibility, and features:
There are four staterooms on the lower level; two in each hull. All have ensuite heads. A 5-zone, Webasto diesel hydronic heat system was installed new in 2019. There are separate controls in each stateroom, and in the salon. This silent heating system will keep the boat toasty in a cold climate, without the need of a generator.
The two forward staterooms have a double berth, offset to the inboard side. Features include great headroom, a hanging locker, cabinets with shelves, carpeting, 12V fan, LED lighting, one hatch and one opening port.
The two aft staterooms are configured with split (single) berths, which can be converted to double berths with a filler piece. (In the photos, starboard berth is shown as "singles"; the port berth is shown as a double.) Each cabin has two opening ports, a hatch, LED lighting, and a reading light.
The four heads are private for each stateroom. All pull-out faucets were replaced in 2019. All heads have drain pains; so they are "combination" showers. Heads are Jabsco electric. Each head has LED lighting, an exhaust fan, medicine cabinet and storage locker.
Thanks to the 17'4" beam, the flybridge is remarkably spacious. There are two curved settees, with seating for up to 8. The backrest for the helm seat cleverly converts from captain's seat to become part of the settee. A fiberglass table has a flip-up leaf, so there is plenty of room for a large spread of food when entertaining. Additional features include:
Built by the highly respected Robertson and Caine yard of South Africa, known for their blue water catamarans, the Lion 46 is no exception to their reputation for quality and comfort. From first glance, you can see her as a very seaworthy vessel, and from the first step aboard, you can feel the comfort and stability. You will not find this in a monohull!
With a 17’4” beam, the cockpit is massive and features a new teak dining table that can be folded and used as a cocktail table. All on the same level, a step through the large sliding glass door will take you to a very comfortable salon / galley / lower helm that can seat up to 10. Cruising or while at anchor from this level (especially enjoyable in the cooler months) will allow you to maintain almost 360 degree views of your surroundings, including the wildlife. All while still being able to keep an eye on the navigation and operation of the vessel, make a quick meal, grab a beer from the 3/4-sized fridge, and socialize with your guests that may be anywhere on that level from the cockpit to the helm.
The four staterooms are located at opposite corners of the hulls, providing maximum separation and privacy. Each stateroom has an en suite head. The layout can only be accomplished with a catamaran!
The vessel features a brand new Webasto diesel heater system with five zone control allows each stateroom and the salon to have its own digital thermostatic temperature control. There is an abundance of hot water between the highly efficient heating of the water and the abundance of fresh water capacity. Additionally, while overnighting offshore, this system can be easily maintained along with other basic power requirements all night long without having to hear a generator running. The very quiet diesel heater system requires very little power draw from the 1000 amp hour house battery bank.
When you want to spend time outside and enjoy the fresh air, the flybridge provides a huge area for up to 8 people. The new bimini and 3-sided enclosure provide shelter from the elements. Sun worshipers will enjoy the Sunbrella bow sun-pad, installed new in 2019.
When returning back to port, the power-cat's wide beam makes the boat very maneuverable, even with a breeze. The 3-station engine controls allow driving from the flybridge, salon or cockpit. There is even a rear-facing backup camera that displays on the chart plotter.
The West Coast sees only a few power cat sales a year and a vessel with this much value at this price point may not be seen again for years to come! Transferable slip available, subject to the usual application process.
