HARVEST MOON is an excellent example of the VICEM 52 Classic. She has been captain maintained with no expense spared. Her Flag Blue hull, teak side decks and cockpit soles, mahogany transom, custom upholstery and rare helm door are just a few things that set her apart from the others. HARVEST MOON has an impressive service history and an extensive list of upgrades (detailed in listing). She has just received her winter service, fresh bottom paint and exterior varnish. Recently commissioned, launched and ready for immediate delivery!
Vicem has been utilizing cold-molded construction techniques from its first yacht—a 62-foot (19-meter) sailing ship, launched 20 years ago—to its largest wood build, the Vicem 100.
The technique involves laminating together layers of wood veneers or very thin planks to create a hull that is watertight, extremely strong and lightweight.
Cold-molded hulls are built skin-first over a form; the frames, stringers and other interior hull supports are added later; this is the Vicem method. They then laminate the frames over templates, building them in one piece to run from gunwale to gunwale over the keel. Keel and stringers are solid timbers, and all the structural wood inside the hull is coated with WEST epoxy to seal out water, prevent rot and make it easy to keep clean.
The Vicem 52 classic has a large cockpit, with L-shaped seating to port upholstered in custom high-performance outdoor Ralph Lauren navy blue fabric cushions with contrasting red piping and custom Perennials fabric throw pillows. Custom bimini covering the entire cockpit. Vicem hi/low cockpit table. Teak step located on both port and starboard coamings for access to the side decks. Access to the teak swim platform is through a starboard transom door. Located to starboard is a wet bar of varnished mahogany with a built-in stainless sink and electric BBQ grill. Underneath is a refrigerator and storage space.
Enter the salon of HARVEST MOON through a sliding door with custom glass lower panel and notice the beautiful 360-degree view of the stunning satin-varnished mahogany interior. Port and starboard settees are upholstered in custom Ralph Lauren navy blue fabric cushions with navy piping. Satin-varnish mahogany floors throughout with dark walnut border inlay.
Forward port side is a navigation seat upholstered in red UltraLeather with blue piping and stainless steel footrests. Custom port sliding window added for additional ventilation. Helm is located to starboard with very rare helm door to the side deck. Helm seat is upholstered in matching red UltraLeather with blue piping and stainless steel footrests. Storage is beneath both navigation and helm seat. Overhead is an opening sunroof.
Recessed lighting throughout the pilothouse. Three custom mounted Weems and Plath instruments located above the three pilothouse forward facing windows: Barometer, Clock, Temperature and Humidity.
Down a few stairs but still open to the salon is the port side galley. This large and beautiful area has marble countertops, stainless appliances and mahogany cabinets. The electrical panel is also conveniently located here at eye level.
Starboard side is the guest cabin with twin berth, stainless opening ports, mahogany cabinets and flat screen TV. Custom fit bedding upholstered in high-end designer fabrics. The guest head is just forward, with marble counters and Tecma freshwater head and teak sole.
Forward is the master stateroom with large island berth, mahogany cabinets, built-in vanity with seat, flat screen TV, stainless steel ports (two added for additional light) and overhead hatch with screen. Custom fit bedding upholstered in high-end designer fabrics. The master head is on the port side with marble counters, Tecma fresh water head and large separate stall shower with teak sole.
