Beautifully designed and appointed sailing yacht. The hull is of single-skinned GRP construction with added areas of reinforcement (keel, rudder, chainplates, hull / deck joint) to further strengthen the hull structure. Within the hull is a single-skinned structural inner moulding which is bonded and laminated to the hull. This reinforces the hull structure as it takes and absorbs the stresses at pressure points such as chain plate tie rods, keel and rudder reducing strain on the hull. The surface of the inner moulding is finished in white gel making it easier to clean.
The hull topsides are finished in high gloss white flow coat with complimenting silver livery. The deck is of glass fibre and balsa sandwich construction for optimum strength / weight ratio as well as providing excellent heat and sound insulation. All working areas and areas of movement around the deck are provided with a moulded non-slip diamond point finish.
The keel is fitted to the boat by a system of stainless steel bolts with stainless steel backing plates. The keel itself is of cast iron and is the shallow draft version. To increase durability, the keel is given an anti-corrosion treatment and improved finish in the factory before assembly, using epoxy-based coatings and paint. The companionable cockpit is enormous with plentiful stowage lockers. These are situated to port and starboard of cockpit table, under starboard helm seat and in the wet locker between helm seats. Vessel is powered by a Yanmar 3JH4E 40 Hp inboard diesel engine with reduction gearbox driving stainless steel shaft and three bladed propeller. The engine is mounted on rubberised mounts attached on to the hull inner moulding to reduce noise and vibration. The engine compartment itself is insulated with soundproofing foam to further minimise noise and is ventilated by a motorised air intake which forces any dangerous fumes through an exhaust on transom.
Engine access is easy with main access via the companionway steps supported by two gas struts. A further 2 side access hatches are situated in the aft cabins for maintenance and daily checks. Fuel is stored in a 200-litre rotomoulded fuel tank with electronic sender gauge and located under aft port berth. This is fitted with a sea water and diesel filter with sediment reservoir. There is a electrical panel at the chart table split into 12/220V with 10 x 12V switches and 11 fused switches. The addition of a 12V cigarette lighter style socket is ideal for phone charging. There is an illuminated panel showing volts, water tank and fuel level gauges. There are also low battery, low diesel and low water tanks alarms. 12V power is provided by a two 140 Amp service battery located beneath aft starboard cabin and a 110 Amp engine battery located beneath the sole at the foot of the companionway. These are recharged via the 80 Amp alternator coupled to the engine or via the 40amp battery charger when hooked up to shore power.
