The Nord Star 26 Patrol is every bit the proper little ship. In just 26' the cleverly designed layout accommodates everything required for a couple or small family to enjoy weekend cruising. Many design features often associated with commercial craft such as the forward raked windscreen which gives a distinctive profile can be found aboard.
Commissioned with no expense spared by her current owners in 2015 WANDERER has been very lightly used since 2016. The engine has clocked less than 40 hours with boat having never been slept on much of the interior is in the same condition as the day she left the factory. Loaded with extras including twin heating systems, forward facing LED spotlights, anchor windlass, fridge, Garmin plotter/radar she is an excellent opportunity to acquire a nearly new boat at significantly less than the current purchase cost.

'Boat building excellence since the 1920's
Linex- Boat Oy is a Finnish family-owned company that manufactures first-class boats for leisure and professional use. The sturdy structure married with elegant design is the result of careful planning, traditional craftsmanship and a modern perspective on production. Buying a Nordstar is an investment in reliability, safety and power at your fingertips –regardless of the weather or time of year.'
'The Nord Star 26 Patrol is a true all-weather and all-purpose boat. A sleeping cabin for two, features separate toilet, and a pantry offers comfort and functionality under way. The same excellent seagoing qualities and craftsmanship that is built-in to all Nord Star models.'
'For a young family or a couple starting out in the cruising life, the Nord Star 26 just might make the perfect Sport Utility Vessel. Summer cruises on the coast and weekends afloat the rest of the year; it’s all made possible by the extremely efficient layout of the boat and its powerful yet fuel-sipping Volvo diesel. The fit and finish of the basic hull, systems, and interior woodwork represent the best of old-world craftsmanship.......
The 26 is part of a model line that ranges from 24 feet to 40 feet, known fully as the Nord Star Patrol series. They are built in Finland by parent company Linex-Boat Oy, the Lindkvist family-owned firm that has delivered more than 3,000 fiberglass recreational, commercial, and government-class vessels. The patriarch of the Lindkvist family started building wooden fishing and workboats in the 1920′s. Today’s modern fiberglass production facility is certified to the highest ISO 9001-2000 standards; the boats themselves meet the stringent CE Ocean Class B rating for offshore seaworthiness. That last standard means, among other things, that the boats will safely handle seas up to 13 feet and winds in excess of 40 knots. Suffice it to say the boat can handle more than you or I can, or at least more than we would want to.
The Nord Star 26 is probably one of the smallest cruising boats that can comfortably take a couple or young family on long weekend cruises. However, it’s also the kind of boat that you will use not just for cruising but for just about everything else you can do with a boat. It’s not so big that you wouldn’t just drop by the marina and take it out for a spin by yourself.......
The Nord Star 26 has a functional aft cockpit and an amazing swim platform that feels like it could host an entire picnic while on the hook. Actually it could, because there’s also a huge storage box on the platform, tucked up against the transom. The engine access hatch is in the cockpit sole and when you raise it on its gas struts, you see the thick insulation that contributes to the quiet ride. There are unusually wide side decks to make transiting forward and aft safe. The transom has sturdy gates to allow boarding from the platform.
The performance of the boat is impressive. The modified-V planing hull comes up out of the water quickly and with minimal bow rise. The Volvo Penta D4 diesel drives a DuoProp sterndrive and supplies fantastic torque all the way up the RPM curve, unlike a gas engine that you might see in a boat of this size. Within seconds you are skimming along the water in the mid-20 knot range. There really isn’t any significant noise at the helm. Decibel readings stayed below 80, which means less fatigue on longer transits.
Maneuverability is superb. The DuoProp sends the thrust right along the steering vector so turns are instantaneous and speed loss in a sharp turn is minimized. The hull leans gently into turns. A bow thruster makes docking effortless.'

The silhouette of the Nord Star 26 is unique in boats of this size and give a clear indication of the no-nonsense attitude that has been taken when creating the boat. The layout with a full walk around deck protected by deep bulwarks and walk through wheel house facilitating single handed mooring are desirable attributes not often found in boats below 30' in length.
The interior of the boat is compact however through practical design the builders have achieved a layout capable of accommodating a family for a weekend cruise. The current owners attention to detail is evident throughout the boat with the fit out level above what would normally be expected in a boat of this size. The boat also boasts the optional extra hidden berth below the saloon seating.
Forepeak - Accessed via steps from wheelhouse. A fold down companionway hatch with hinged doors isolates the cabin from the main wheelhouse. Wrap around seating with backrest outboard. Mirror on forward bulkhead. Infill section drops in to create single large bunk forward. Large storage bin type locker beneath bunk with shelf outboard. Cabin is heated with outlets from both onboard heating systems.
Heads - Located to starboard, separate compartment within forepeak. Jabsco manual marine toilet. Stainless steel sink. Small storage locker beneath sink. Compartment is serviced by its own dedicated heater outlet.
Wheelhouse - The wheel house provides full 360 degree views with access to and from the deck via sliding doors port and starboard. The forward end of the space provides two forward looking seats with the helm station to starboard. All navigation instruments are within easy reach of the helmsman. With the companionway hatch to the forepeak folded down a practical working surface for paper chart navigation is also provided. a wrap around settee aft of the forward seating provides additional seating for passengers while also serving as a saloon with removable swiveling table. Storage is provided around the space with lockers beneath seats.
Galley - Clever use of hidden space has created a compact galley. A spirit stove can store beneath the working surface forward of the navigators seat. With the seat folded forward a small stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water faucet is accessible. A small front loading fridge is located beneath the helmsman's seat.
Aft Cabin - Not strictly a cabin however this hidden bunk area transforms the boat into a practical weekend cruiser. Accessed through the central section of the wheelhouse aft settee the space provides a compact double bunk.
The engine is located within a dedicated engine space at the aft end of the boat. A large deck hatch opens on twin gas struts to provide access around the whole engine.
