2019 Walker Bay 450 Generation
Generation 450 Yacht Tender
The incredibly smooth ride and ample space in the Walker Bay Generation 450 yacht tender are a step above all other luxury rigid inflatable boats.
The 2019 Generation 450 yacht tender received significant upgrades, incorporating new design features and improved building technology.
The Generation 450 is now built using Walker Bay’s proprietary Polyurethane Composite Micro Stringer system making the hull lighter and stronger. The new Generations also have a unique approach to joining the hull and deck using a unidirectional glass and polyurethane grid bonding system that eliminates the air cavity found in other RIBs. The result is a stronger hull that better absorbs wave chop, and its lighter weight gives a faster top speed and makes it quick to plane.
Design and Reinforcement
The stringer manufacturing system allows for a more even integrated distribution load through the hull giving it extra strength when the boat is lifted. Other areas of reinforcement include the steering arm and telescopic ski pole. The Generation 450 also now have a hull liner that not only improves the integrity and ride of the boat, but provides a smooth clean floor for the rear storage compartments.
In addition to design improvements, the Generation line of luxury yacht tenders is now available in three color accent options; Classic Grey, Carbon Black and Ocean Blue.
The extra deep V-hull in all Walker Bay Generation luxury yacht tenders is made for cutting through water. As well, the customized gas tank fits in the bow section of the keel, moving weight forward in the boat to further reduce the impact of rough chop and contribute to early planing. The Generation 450’s integrated bow fuel tank and extra deep V-hull make it one of the most comfortable, smooth riding inflatable boats on the market. The 450 hull also now has modified chines that control the lift at high speed while ensuring a smooth and dry ride. This combination of hull and tank location ensures a solid feel over rough chop, while being quicker to plane.
As the Generation 450 DLX luxury yacht tender propels forward, the concave chines deflect the water down, reducing spray and increasing hull traction for aggressive maneuvering. The stern of the hull, meanwhile, flattens out to facilitate planing at low speeds. Above the water, the sloping design of the bow step pushes the boat down at the front while the downward curve of the stern lifts the tail to increase stability and handling.
