The X4.6 has a high ballast ratio, which means, safe, fast and pointing very high upwind. The hull is made in epoxy (vacuum infusion), this is lighter, stronger, gives a better finish and makes osmosis impossible.
There is a water proof compartment in the front of the boat. X-Yachts is well known for there steel frame integratedin the hull. Hull and deck are made in sandwich construction, with a composite keel with lead bulb. On deck four Performa 50.2 STP two speed selftailingwinches, (upgrade from the standard winches)Rod rigging, furling system, flush hatches, teak in the cockpit, German mainsheet system, hydraulic backstay, Electrical anchor windlass with 20 kg Delta anchor and 50 meter chain (upgrade).
