The Alden 44 has been described as “one of the most beautiful yachts ever built.” While such glowing praise can always be a matter of perspective, it is safe to say that this Nils Helleberg design will not only turn heads in any harbor but will also carry her crew there safely, stylishly and comfortably. A timeless design and an ease to sail with its power primary winches and Hood Main roller furler, the Alden 44 is equally at home on an afternoon sail or powering her way offshore under a stiff breeze.
Please review the complete listing for details, but know that “Ciao” is well-founded, capable and ready to be loved by her new owner. She has had many significant upgrades that set her apart for ease of short handed sailing. These include an in-mast mainsail furling system and the addition of two electric primary winches for effortless sheeting of sails.

A companionway ladder at the aft end of the main salon leads to a cabin top entrance hatch. The engine compartment is below this entrance. The galley is located to starboard of the companionway however with counter space and a double stainless sink located on the centerline. The head is located to port and aft of the companionway. Access to the aft owner's cabin is provided by a passage from the galley area or through the port side head. The owner's cabin features port and starboard quarter berths , beautifully crafted navigation table, very generous storage areas/lockers and a starboard companionway access to the cockpit.
The main salon itself offers a centerline, drop-leaf varnished table, port and starboard settees. The port settee can be extended for a wider berth and there also is a sea berth above the port settee. Storage is provided above and outboard of the settees. Opening ports and a large opening hatch provide excellent ventilation and there are two teak-framed 12V fans mounted on the forward bulkhead as well.
The forward cabin offers a large V-berth with filler. A starboard side hanging locker and numerous lockers and drawers provide an exceptional amount of storage. A teak-framed 12V fan, opening ports and hatch combine to keep this forward berth/cabin well ventilated.
In general, there is classic Alden quality throughout the boat including varnished teak joinery and a teak/maple sole. The ambiance as well as the substance of such high standard design and construction cannot be overstated.
