Saralane was purchased in 2007 by a knowledgable couple who were seeking a comfortable, capable, vessel that would be home for a multi year cruise through the Bahamas and Caribbean. A C&C 40 centerboard model was settled on due to her sound construction, layout, and the fact that she is simply fun to sail. They dedicated three years to do a total refit, and Saralane has been home for them since 2010, when they headed south for the Bahamas. They have explored the Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean as far as Grenada over the years. A larger boat may be in store for them, and so the time has come to pass Saralane along to another adventurous couple. Her shoal draft (4’9”) is perfect for the Bahamas and the modifications done to modernize her for cruising make her a great choice and set her apart from others currently for sale. To quote Andy Burton in a recent Cruising World article "... The sport has changed, but many of the wonderful true racer/cruisers of the '70's and 80s remain. The boats built by C&C Yachts in Canada are some of the best of that breed....With a beautiful spring to her sheer, rakish stem, reverse transom and rounded cabin house that gently tapers into the fore-deck, the C&C 40 looks fast just sitting on her mooring." Saralane is currently cruising the USVI/BVI and her owners will be happy to accommodate a showing for interested parties. All cruising amenities are included such as galleyware, plates, dishes, cutlery, linens, towels, tools, and spare parts. Her owners are motivated - they do not want to own two boats. All reasonable offers considered!
