Robin Hood, the personal yacht of Ted Hood for over 15 years, is now in Camden, Maine and ready for fulltime live aboard and extensive cruising. This is a vessel that has undergone huge upgrades in excess of $1,000,000 over the last three years. Including all new Raymarine electronics, new Yanmar engine, new rod rigging, painted mast and hull, all new cushions, dodger, bimini. The list goes on and on. The build quality, sea worthiness of the Little Harbors are well known and this owner has made sure all the systems and cosmetics have been professionally maintained and/or updated.

The full list of upgrades and improvements is very long. Here are the highlights from the last three seasons making this vessel better in every aspect.
The hull was molded in FRP with 3/4" Airex foam core for added strength and sound/thermal insulation. The
centerboard is two-part female molded FRP with bronze protective shoe on leading edge and solid FRP around pin
area. The centerboard has a highly efficient foil shaped and is filled with structural putty and lead ballast to provide
negative buoyancy. Centerboard hoist via wire cable to winch on deck The balanced, high aspect spade rudder is
two part female molded FRP with 3 1/2" stainless steel rudder stock. Bulkheads are built of marine grade plywood,
reinforced with FRP in areas of chain plates. FRP fuel and water tanks integral to the hull, for additional stiffness to
hull laminate and to use the maximum amount of volume available.
Centerboard configuration offers a minimum draft of 5’-6” with board up and a maximum draft of 11’-4” with board
Topsides are flag blue Awlgrip with double white boot stripe, green bottom and gold leaf cove stripe. Cabin house is
white with light gray nonskid. Mast and boom are finished with Metallic Grey Awlgrip.
The deck is one-piece molded FRP with foam core for strength and stiffness. It is bonded and bolted down with
epoxy putty to the inboard angled hull flange with 5/16" bolts on 8" centers. All deck hatch landings are molded in
FRP. The propane locker is molded separately and ventilated with direct drain overboard.
ROBINHOOD sleeps 8 in 3 private staterooms, with 2 heads and 2 stall showers. There are 2 additional berths in the Main Salon.
Forward Sail and Storage Area:
Starting forward, there is a large walk-in forepeak with tool storage and sail storage, accessible from on deck and below. There is also a shower with a teak grate. Next aft are identical private heads and guest cabins, each side with upper/lower berths, all with 5" thick mattresses and lee cloths. Each cabin has a hanging locker, several drawers, and numerous lockers.
The spacious main salon features a wrap around settee and dining table to starboard that provides a communal environment for family and friends and includes a centerline bar/storage and separate refrigerator. A second full length settee is to port to provide additional sea-berth or overflow seating. Here and throughout, ROBIN HOOD has an abundance of hatches and opening portholes to create a light and airy feeling. Six topside windows further enhance the visibility and open feeling while seated.
Aft of the salon and to starboard is a practical sea-going galley, with twin stainless steel sinks, microwave oven, 3-burner propane stove, full height refrigerator, with vertical door and top loading deep freeze. Formica countertops.
Opposite on the port side is a fully functioning nav. station with custom electrical panels inboard, aft of the companionway.
Owner's Cabin and Head
Dual passageways from the nav. station or galley, lead to the Owner's cabin, which features a double berth to starboard, and a single berth to port. ( 5" thick with lee cloths) There is a private head and shower.
In 2018/2019 Robin Hood was repowered with a brand new Yanmar 4JH11X1. This engine complies with US and CE emission regulations. During the repower the shaft and Aquadrive were replaced.
The vessel was also upgraded with a Northern Lights 9 kW genset, including electrocoil.
Robin Hood was upgraded to all new Raymarine electronics package in 2020.

The main cockpit is large and functional, designed for easy exit each side without climbing over coaming. The
steering pedestal houses all engine instrumentation, sail handling functions and sailing instruments for easy access
by helmsman, as are all deck winches.
ROBIN HOOD is a great example of Ted Hood's popular Little Harbor 53 series. Her unique hull design features
generous beam and displacement to provide exceptional living and storage space as well as remarkable stability
and sea kindliness offshore. Her low wetted surface hull is also easily driven in light wind by a high-aspect sail plan.
Upwind performance is enhanced by a deep, efficient centerboard that increases draft to 11'4" when lowered. Most
unique of all is the cockpit design, which allows one person to handle all sail controls without leaving the helm while
