2021/2022 Complete Refit by custom boat and engineering shop
STOP LOOKING, THIS IS THE BOAT!
Owner just completed a 2 year refit with no expense spared to create the ultimate Bay Cruiser or Island Hopper. Everything on this boat has been touched and the pictures tell the story! Plans have changed and with only 46 hrs or her, she's up for sale!
Make no mistake about it- This is a ONE OFF, CUSTOM BOAT!! The layout with seating forward of the dual console makes carrying a crowd a breeze. She even has and a cuddy cabin in the fore peak w/ self contained head and additional dry storage. The aft seating contains a full length ice box built to the insulation standards of those very popular commercial coolers (Y ou know the ones we're talking about!) This great boat hasn't been officially named yet, but Mako Madness fits her well!
Starting with a well-cared for 1987 Mako 285 Dual Console hull that spent much of it's life stored indoors, the transom was removed and a custom 4ft, re-enforced aluminum motor bracket/swim platform was fabricated. Twin brand new Suzuki DF300A motors were chosen for a perfect balance of speed and efficiency. Coosa Composite was used in place of the original wood as it's superior in strength and weight. At this time a custom fishbox and Starboard side stern door to the platform were added. All areas of the hull and stringers were inspected and replaced as needed. Once all of the hull work was completed, she was painted in AwlGrip Light Blue for the hull and White AwlGrip for the interior with fresh non skid. The next step was replacing all of the wiring, steering, seating, and electronics. Part of this work also involved replacing many cabinets and doors and fabricating acrylic panels that would allow the hidden LED lighting to shine through on evening cruises. For the dual console seating Wise Luxury Helm Chairs were selected using fixed pedestals and fore/aft sliders. A complete new Sea Star Steering system was installed with a Schmitt Vision Elite Wheel. The batteries were replaced and relocated to the Port side mid-ship console to better balance weight. All new wiring was run along with a complete Lumitech lighting system. The navigation is handled by a Garmin 8612XSV 12" Multifuntion display and bronze XDCR CHIRP-H Trandsucer. VHF is Garmin 315 Modular w/Haler & GPS. When is comes to high end audio on the water, the two "Go-To" names are JL Audio and Fusion. The boat received the full treatment and features the Fusion Apollo Hideaway head unit w/remote, 2000w 8ch amp, 2 JL Audio 10" LED backlit Subs, 4-7.7 JL Audio LED backlit speakers and 2-6.5 JL Audio LED backlit speakers. There's not a spot on this vessel where the audio isn't heard crystal clear!!
This is not your average boat! The thought that went into her and the quality workmanship really shows through. When you pull up to the dock, get ready for people to ask...."Is that a custom??" The short answer ---"YES IT IS!"
