Entering the vessel, there is a fixed trasom and you pass thru a gate to an safe cockpit. Centerline steps up take you an enclosed "lanai" with custom cabinetry that has a built in refrigerator and bar (the sink water line is capped off and not working currently). The salon is entered from the lanai , going down 4 steps. Large windows across the front and both sides bring in plenty of light and the excellent view of either the marina or the quiet anchorage you have dropped hook. The salon has 2 very comfortable chairs to port to kick back and watch TV, which is ajacent to starboard. Forward and port in the salon is a roll top desk that hides the lower helm and its controls. Forward of the salon and down 3 more steps, is the galley. The forward windows bring in an abundance of light right over the galley, creating a wide-open feel . Moving forward is guest stateroom with centerline queen berth and private head and shower. From salon and aft to starboard you have steps leading down to the Master Stateroom. Island queen berth with private head and shower/tub. Hugh amount of storage runs port and starboard along the hull. With a vanity desk along port side.

The 48 Carmargue is a hand laid fiberglass vessel using polyester resin, E-glass fiberglass cloth and matt and coring materials of balsa, plywood, and other hardwoods. The hull bottom is solid fiberglass with balsa cored hull sides above the waterline. The stringer system has a wood core encased in fiberlass. This is laid up while the hull is in the mold to prevent flexing. The deck is also made of fiberglass with a wood core in high stress areas.
