This stunning KROGEN 42 is a widebody model, where the saloon is extended on the port side of the saloon to provide an additional 18" of interior space and storage also providing a much easier access to the boat deck and flybridge. There is a side deck with a custom easier boarding access door.
She's an owner's stateroom forward model that has an Island berth and guest stateroom with a bunkbed arrangement. Liberty has a custom layout, offering her owner's a bath/shower in the enlarged head area over the standard arrangement. The saloon/galley area has a unique and brilliant arrangement! Unique Floor Plan and Features
Galley: open design on port side with large view window, Propane stove/oven. 18cuft refrig/freezer.
Head: Vacu-flush toilet, vanity/sink, large tub/shower and washer/dryer on starboard side.
Master stateroom: Center queen bed, 2 hanging closets, dresser drawers, mirrored vanity, storage on sides, forward(chain locker) & under bed, screened ventilation/emergency hatch to deck. 5 port holes.
Guest Room: Bunk births with closet, dresser drawers, storage, 2 port holes and vanity on port side.
2 Double Temporary Beds: Futon in saloon and pilothouse bench seat.
Deck/Dock Access: Upper deck from pilothouse door. Custom side door to dock. Stern swimstep door.
Finish: Varnished teak interior and exterior trim All fiberglass. Low maintenance. No teak on deck.

Fuel: 2 - 350gal in 2 lined steel tanks. Primary Racor 500 Dual Fuel Filters with 2 micron filters. Secondary 2 Ford-Lehman 10 micron filters
Bow Thruster: Sidepower SE100/185T dual prop 24v 220lbs thrust.
Fresh Water: 360gal in 2 fiberglass tanks. Sea Gull filtered water at galley sink.
BlackWater: 70gal holding tank. filtered vent, Y valve, macerator/valve forward bilge hatch and deck pump out.
Genset: Northern Lights 12 KW Generator Model M-843. 2643 hours. Primary and Secondary fuel filters.
Heating/Cooling: 2 heat pumps for fore and aft. 20,000btu Hurricane hydronic heater for saloon/galley & head.
Hull and Exterior

Size: 42’ WL 46’ LOA 15.5’ beam, Draft -4' 6", Clearance Height: 23” with Paravane Poles, !8’ with paravane pole extensions and rigging removed. Easy to install extensions and rigging.
Exterior Finish: Hull buffed out regularly and June 2022. Decks are fiberglass vs leak prone teak strips. Pilot house painted 2016. Front deck rebuilt, caulked, and painted 2019. Top deck rebuilt, caulked, and painted 2020. Deck rebuilding replaced entire original wood core with WP plywood and bonding, calked and painted original fiberglass deck. Pictures available. Flying bridge and cockpit deck bottom and sides caulked and painted 2019. Teak touched up or varnished yearly. All varnished June 2022. Forward hatch replaced June 2022.
Canvas: Navy blue flying bridge, pilot house windows, handrails, port side saloon windows, starboard cockpit side deck doorway, anchor pulpit and gray tender covers.
Tender and Crane:Amanzi11’ inflatable Hypalon with fiberglass hull & interior console tender with 30hp Merc and trailer. 600lb Steelhead crane to launch/retrieve tender/kayak.
Paravanes: Mast and paravane poles and rigging modified and painted to fit in the boat shed after summer trips north. It takes about 30 minutes to place paravane extensions and rigging on/off at dockside/anchor. Paravanes easily deployed and retrieved at sea.
Windless and Anchors: Ideal chain and line windless. Bruce 35kg/66lb claw type primary anchor with 325’ of 3/8 BBB chain. 30lb plow anchor mounted with 100’ chain/line (stowed under master bed). Large Danforth anchor with 100 ft chain/line in lazarette.
Bottom and exposed metal: Bottom pressure washed and touched up or repainted yearly with Sea Hawk non-copper paint. Bronze 28X20 RH 3 blade propeller and stainless steel shaft/rudder painted with zinc paint. Rudder has Divers Dream aluminum anodes. Shaft has an internal shaft brush connected to the bonding system. Sidepower bow thruster has 2 zinc anodes on propeller. Thru hulls connected to bonding system, checked and painted with bottom paint.
Engine Room Equipment
Main Engine: Ford Lehman 135hp naturally aspirated diesel. Does not have any electronic controls; just requires clean fuel to run and starter to start. Head magnafluxed and valves/springs rebuilt in April 2015. Injectors serviced in April 2015.New starter 2014 and old one used as spare. Parts and advise readily available through American Diesel, the original distributor. Separate battery for starting.
Genset: Northern Lights 12kW naturally aspirated diesel generator in soundproof compartment. Start/stop switches, gauges and switching in pilothouse. Separate battery for starting.
Engine Room Access: 4 large removable floor panels and ladder provide standup servicing access. Forward hatch for easy access to primary fuel valving/filters, oil/coolant fills/checks and electrical distribution switching cabinet and batteries. Vacu-flush vacuum tank/pump and heat pump sea water strainer accessible through the hatch.
Fire Fighting: Halon extinguisher in engine room. Handheld fire extinguisher in each room. CO alarm in saloon. Smoke alarm in sleeping quarters and bath hallway.
Fuel System: 2 350gal steel fuel tanks, valving for fuel supply, return, sight gauges, main engine/genset. Tank to tank fuel transfer pump. Primary filters for engine and Genset.
Water Distribution System: Toilet and manual sink pump valves, strainer, quality ceramic run dry pump, pressure tank and 40gal hot water tank. Tank level gauges in pilothouse.
Electrical Systems: Xantrex 3000w inverter/charger with remote control, inverter battery bank (6 6v gels), house battery bank (6 6v gels), 12v start battery, 90amp alternator with external Balmar regulator and smart battery isolator with switches to combine batteries in electrical cabinet. Separate battery charger with remote control for house and start batteries. Remote controls and main switch panel located in pilot house including 400w solar array controller. Shore power has 2 separate 30amp inputs.
Heat/Cooling System: Hurricane diesel heater 22,000btu with thermostat fan controls in saloon and head. On/off switch and information readout in saloon. 2 heat pump heating/cooling systems with separate controls (fore and aft) located in the pilot house with forced air vents in all rooms. Raw water valve and strainer in engine room. One heat pump can be run with 30amp shore power input. Both with 2 30amp shore power connections or with the genset.
Pilot House Equipment and Controls
Electrical: Main switch and circuit breakers for 110v AC and 12v DC in cabinet for control of shore/generator/inverter 110v and battery 12v distribution. Inverter 110v circuits limited to refrigerator and 110v plugs. 2 30amp shore power cords with Y connector and adapters from 20 to 50amps. Battery banks and solar array provide 12v power. Switch to combine engine start and house battery bank and a switch to add 12v solar output and voltage/current gauges are includes. Switches to isolate or combine battery banks and start battery output are in the engine room electrical distribution cabinet. Separate remote panels provide Inverter/Charger, house/start battery charger, solar array status/control. A separate circuit breaker panel is provided at the helm for boat operational and navigation equipment. A separate panel with warning light safely provides 12v power to the windless.
Navigation and Communications: Coastal Explorer software run on PC with US and Canadian charts. Vesper Marine XB-6000 GPS, heading and Class B AIS input to PC (Separate Antenna). Digital DCS SIMRAD RS35 VHF marine radio/antenna and HS35 handset is connected to a separate GPS antenna and heading sensor. FCC registered radio station and MMSI. Backup portable GPS antenna/receiver provided by PC USB connection. Weather station. AM/FM/CD Radio.
Operation Controls: On/off key, start & stop buttons, F-N-R and RPM controls, gauges and alarms in pilot house and on flying bridge. Fore and aft bilge pumps with auto/manual/off switches, bow thruster control, horn, digital and analog RPM meters, compass, window wiper switches, Robertson AP3000X autopilot. Furuno radar. Inclination meter.
Bow Thruster: Side Power 185 24v bow thruster mounted under the master bed with 2 sealed 12v batteries in series with a 12v battery charger. Controls in the pilot house and on the flybridge at the helm stations.
Survival Equipment: Survival raft, 3 cold water survival suits, rescue throw line in cockpit, LifeSling on upper deck, 2 life rings, 2 throw cushions, and 9 life jackets.
Flying Bridge: Start/Stop, F-N-R and RPM controls, horn, bow thruster control and engine gauges and alarm. Simrad Cruise 5 map and GPS shared with tender.
Unique Configuration: Open starboard side with picture winter and extra storage.
Countertop: New Corian countertop with under mount stainless dual sink and boat rail. Modern spray faucet, seagull filtered war faucet and backup manual water pump.
Refrigerator: 110v Kirkland Signature 18cuft refrigerator with top freezer.
Stove: New Propane 3 burner Force 10 with oven. 2 9gal switchable tanks in flybridge locker. Trident leak alarm and valve control in galley.
Microwave: Panasonic overhead.
Shower/Tub: One body tub enclosed with shower curtain. Drains to shower sump and pump with screen in forward bilge for easy maintenance.
Sink: Drains to outside. Mirrored cabinet above.
Toilet: New Vacu-Flush toilet in 2018. Vacuum tank, pump, duck bill valves and hoses to stainless holding tank maintained. Macerator pump (Jul 2022), thru-haul and switch panel with reset breaker in accessible forward bilge hatch.
Washer/Dryer: In enclosed cabinet. Small 110v clothes dryer. Small 110v washer (leaks and not used). We found it more efficient to do laundry at marinas or home.
