Henri Amel and Jacques Carteau designed the together the new 14 m. long Amel Maramu in the Seventies, while Amel was sailing on his way to the Caribean to deliver a new boat to her owner. Ten years later they designed again together the new 16 m. Amel Super Maramu, based on and improving that model. The success of the vessel thus born was such that the Maramu became the only model to be produced by the Yard in years to come. The Super Maramu was the last design from Heri Amel who died in 2005. Since then the range of the Yard does not spot any longer wind names, but the length overall in feet. The Super Maramu was built in some 300 units, from 1989 to 1998, to which we can add the 200 units of the Super Maramu 2000, essentially an improved version of the same boat built between 1998 and 2006. The Super Maramu incorporates all the ingenious Amel ideas to make easy the boat's handling to a crew of only two, often ageing people. Electric winches and furlers, allmanoeuvers set back to the super protected cockpit, etc. The spinnaker can even be hoisted without risks using two spinnaker poles easy to handle. In harbour manoeuvering a powerful retractable bow-thruster makes that an easy job. The Admiral is the Super Maramu n. 166 and with her first owner she had a very tranquil life, not being very much sailed. Thus today she is in quite as new conditions. Her second owner brang her to the Amel Mediterranean premises for a deep service work. The full deck was polished, masts and booms painted, electric engines serviced and the full standing rigging replaced. A new set of last generation electronics electronics was mounted on board. Down below, there was no any work to do, as she is quite in as new shape. The Admiral is probably the best Amel Super Maramu unit for sale on the market. I say this statement without any excessiveness. The owner is ready to hear offers on this boat.
