Excellent access to engine.

Corrosion Protection: The standard method for zinc anode protection of an aluminum Saildrive ‘leg’ is a split circular anode around the drive shaft. This has been modified by bolting a large plate zinc to the hull which is wired directly to the transmission inside the boat.  This design has two advantages: (1) the zinc lasts a long time because of its mass; (2)  replacing the zinc by a diver is simple;  it is attached by two (2)¾” nuts.  [See photographs]
