This traditional aft-cabin cruiser is powered by economical Caterpillar 3126 Diesels.
Speeds up to 18 knots when needed, but these engines 'sip' the fuel for long-range travel at 8 knots.
The Mainship 430 Trawler has taken a classic design and improved it through innovative engineering, and modern manufacturing methods. Since its inception 40 years ago, Mainship has produced thousands of boats - mostly in the trawler family. The focus has been, and continues to be, in building high-quality, low maintenance diesel cruisers that are comfortable and affordable. The 430 Trawler has a fully instrumented lower helm that allows operation during inclement weather, and is equipped with full washers and wipers. From the expansive flybridge, Helmsman has a full unobstructed view to all points. Both overhead and console space have been dedicated to electronic needs. Sturdy welded aluminum handrails offer excellent handholds, and the cockpit sides are lowered for safer and easier entry to the full-size swim platform and makes a great fishing cockpit if desired. Walking from the cockpit to the bow is safe with the wide decks and high bulwarks along with the welded aluminum railing to protect from falling overboard. The anchor well will handle plenty of chain and lines, and includes a wash-down. Fore and aft shore power outlets allow for choice of docking. The port and starboard cabin doors make short-handing a snap as well.
Counter space is usually at a premium on a boat, but the galley on the 430 Trawler is a chef's paradise with plenty of Corian-covered counters, an oversize double basin sink, a three-burner Propane stove and a separate oven, 4 high efficiency refrigeration units and loads of storage. The dinette is large enough to seat 6 and is very comfortable with new upholstery. The Salon even has a small office area w/chart table.
Hull was completed in late1999. Boat was sold New in early 2000 as a 2000 model.
