2001 American Tug 3410m

Designed for economical long-distance operation, the American 34 Tug is a sturdy and well constructed family cruiser with a roomy interior and a salty, workboat profile. The similarity of the American 34 to the Nordic 32 and 37 Tug is obvious; all share the same designer and only the slightly reversed front windshield of the American 34 sets her apart in appearance from the Nordics. Built on a beamy semi-displacement hull with full-length keel, the spacious interior of the 34 provides very comfortable accommodations for a cruising couple. The stateroom and head are particularly large for a boat this size, and front and side visibility from the raised pilothouse is excellent. In the salon, a linear galley to starboard provides an abundance of counter and storage space – features quickly appreciated when it comes to daily food-prep activities. On deck, the cockpit is large enough for a couple of deck chairs; the side decks are wide with raised bulwarks, and a pair of pilothouse doors provide easy access. There's space on the cabintop for dinghy storage.

The forward stateroom has a Queen island berth with an innerspring mattress and moisture barrier. Reading lamps on both sides of the berth and storage bins are outboard of the berth.  There are also four large storage drawers under the berth, and large port and starboard cedarlined hanging closets. The head has a full sized separate shower with 6´4" headroom, a Vacuflush fresh water head, cabinet with counter space, and large mirrors. There are dual access doors to the head; one from the stateroom and one from the steps to the pilothouse, for complete privacy. All opening hatches or ports in the boat are screened. The pilothouse has port and starboard doors and double helm seating on both sides. Three large windows with wipers and washers, and defrost system provide excellent visibility. The main cabin is large and bright with pleated shades (clear and solid) for complete privacy. The portside settee converts to a double berth with three drawers under. There is a custom hi-lo teak table with drop leaf. The galley is located to starboard, with spacious countertops.
