Hull and superstructure molds from high-grade female tooling.  Hull construction includes use of USA-made, Cook gel coat.  Hand-laid Knytex fiberglass construction with closed-cell PVC sandwich core used in topsides. Solid fiberglass below waterline with blister-resistant vinylester resin utilized on first, two laminates below the waterline.
Superstructure includes end-grain balsa core and Knytex surface mats for print-through
reduction.  Teak aft and side decks. Boat and fore decks have GripTex non-skid finish. Bulwark has molded plank lines with gelcoat finish.  Polyurethane formulate marine sealants used at hull-to-deck, boat deck joints and exterior
fittings.  Marine-grade plywood bulkheads with molded fiberglass hat section stringers.  Teak veneer walls and cabinetry with stain varnish.

The saloon is entered from the covered aft deck. To port is a settee that converts to a double berth, with storage drawers under. To starboard is an L-shaped settee with a pedestal mount expandable dining table. Large opening windows port and starboard, and in the aft bulkhead, each with screens make the saloon bright an airy.  Each window has drapes and teak valances.  The teak parquet floor is traditional and easy to maintain.  To port near the galley is a large storage and bookshelf area featuring a Raritan icemaker and built-in bottle shelfs. 

The open-faced galley is located forward of the saloon on the starboard side, and looks out into the saloon. There is ample storage within multiple cabinets and drawers.  The major components include:

The master staterrom is forward and down from the pilothouse.  There is a queen-size island berth, with air circulating air vent under mattress to protect from mold.  Custom made bed covers. There are two generous hanging lockers port and starboard, a mirrored and lighted vanity, drawer storage and under-berth storage with easy to use pneumatic struts for access. Five stainless steel opening ports and a screened overhead hatch provide light and ventilation. 

The head is aft of the stateroom on the starboard side. There is a household size Sealand VacuFlush freshwater head with status panel, stall shower with bi-fold aluminum and glass door, vanity with mirrored medicine chest and stainless steel opening port.  Spare VacuFlush vacuum parts on board. 

The pilothouse is up three steps from the saloon.  There are weathertight welded aluminum Dutch doors port and starboard which, combined with a stainless steel aft bulkhead port, and overhead hatches provide plenty of natural ventilation and light.  There is a comfortable settee aft that converts to a double berth, and custom built-in storage beneath the wheel.

One of the unique features of the Krogen 39' is the stand-up engine room. Primary access is from a walk-thru door at the landing from the pilothouse steps, aft of the stateroom. All systems are readily accessable. There is also a workbench, storage and overhead lighting.
