These Astus trimarans are lightweight so are easy to tow and move around by hand on their trailer. Their floats, on telescopic arms, can be extended in minutes and provide a wide stable platform on the water, providing high speeds with a low angle of heel to suit even the most timid of crew members. Rigging is easy - the rotating wing mast can be raised single handed and there is no complicated boom to fit. Being faster than equivalent monohull cruisers the Astus 16.1 boasts a wider range, whether single handed or with the whole family on board. The lockable forward cuddy is big - enabling not only sail and equipment storage, but even substantial amounts of kit for overnight camping stays and longer distance cruising. It floats in only 25cm of water which can make creek-crawling a real pleasure and thanks to the shallow keels and swing rudder they will happily take the ground.
The specification includes:

What the manufacturer has to say about these trimarans:
It is a 5.1-meter trimaran which takes up the concept of the 20.1, namely: large cockpit on a rigid seat, floats on telescopic tubes (no assembly or dismantling of the floats during transport), small grounding cabin shelter for equipment, and for children. The spirit remains the same as the Astus 20.1 with ease of use and operation. It is more of a beach gear, intended for day trips. The centreboard of the central hull is replaced by floats with integrated fins (ease of use). The 330 litre floats allow a very effective return torque for a 240 Kg boat. The sail area being 17.2 m² (mainsail and jib) Stretched trampolines ensure a use area between the tubes of more than 8 m² (with the central hull 1.6 meters wide).
