2011 Catathai 34 | Mianoy

Designed by renowned Tahiti-based French naval architect Nico Gruet, the Catathai 34 is a lightweight, easy-to-sail catamaran built for simplicity, efficiency and adventure. Mianoy, launched in 2011, presents an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-maintained, locally built cruising cat from the respected Catathai shipyard.

At 34 feet, Mianoy features an open bridgedeck layout with three cabins, a single bathroom, and additional single bunk areas in each bow, a rare and versatile configuration for a catamaran of this size.

After purchase, the private owner sailed her to Bangkok via Singapore and undertook a comprehensive refit. Upgrades included hydraulic steering, twin new 60hp Yamaha outboards, a new autopilot system, solar panels, and new batteries. She then spent several years cruising the Bay of Thailand before returning to Phuket, again via Singapore.

With her low-maintenance systems and enhanced manoeuvrability, Mianoy is well suited to relaxed coastal cruising or more extended adventures. The bridgedeck saloon includes a galley with sink and space for a cooker and freezer, plus a navigation station, all arranged to maximise liveability. Forward trampolines are easily accessed, allowing for safe movement throughout the vessel.

Her generous sail area—over 70m² of upwind canvas—paired with a light displacement of just 2.5 tonnes, delivers impressive sailing performance. She comfortably cruises at wind speed or better, especially when powered by the gennaker downwind.

The current owner has thoroughly enjoyed their time aboard Mianoy, using her for light adventures in the Trat region under her Thai registration. However, she could just as easily be flagged offshore, offering flexibility for international cruising or relocation anywhere in the world.
